So I’m watching Pokemon på svenska, specifically Här kommer Trubbish-patrullen which centers around the pokemon Trubbish (predictably). They keep using the word sop and sopor, which I could tell from context seems to mean trash, waste, or refuse. After some digging I turn up soptipp, which is the word for landfill or garbage dump.

Weirdly, even though they’re using it excessively in this episode, I can barely find any indication that sopor exists in dictionaries etc. I’m making some inquiries about its usage but I’ll post this in the meantime so I don’t lose it or forget about it.

Edit: So sopor is suddenly in all of my dictionaries upon waking up... Maybe I was just tired last night. In any case, it seems to generally be used for trash.

Soptippen. Som jag nämnde i ett tidigare inlägg så medför det geografiska läget och klimatet en hel del utmaningar när det gäller avlopp och avfall.

Soptippen såg egentligen ganska städad ut där den låg invid stranden, jämfört med mycket annat man såg inne i staden.
