sonamaeam replied to your post: ok but just bc a friend made me think of it this...
I’ve been setting tasks for myself without the use of a game, mostly because I’d forget it’s there. I have a large whiteboard and a ton of dry erase markers and I reward myself points for every task I get done. I also write down one accomplishment I’ve done for the day to try and remind myself I’m not sinking into a hole. I dunno what I’m going to do with the points just yet, but it’s been helping! I’m so glad you’ve got a similar system!
What I like about Habitica --and why I think it helps me more than only whiteboarding, which I actually use in conjunction with it (one of my habits is “clear a whiteboard” for things I didn’t put in the Habitica to-do list)-- is that the points are automated?
because I’m bad enough with numbers that letting the website do the math for me is almost essential to making the system work, lol
I’m glad you’ve figured out your whiteboard system too!! The important thing is definitely just finding what helps the best~ <3
