Noticing Trauma Starters ⏊ âI donât want to pry, but.. I want you to know I also want to listen, if you want someone to talk to.â â for Miri pls đđ
SHE WAS STILL angryâââ she had a feeling that wouldnât go away anytime soonâââ but the anger wasnât directed at miri & , as much as she wanted to be angry at hylia, it wasnât directed towards the goddess either. it was herself that most of the frustration was directed towards. for not being good enough, for not proving herself when she was needed most. there was no doubt about it now, a hundred years of stasis had been a punishment for her actionsâââ for her inaction.
& YET, EVEN knowing so, she couldnât just understand what she was being punished for. what had she done wrong? surely she had prayed enough! hours spent in freezing cold water, so numb she could feel nothing, so cold she awoke the next day with a fever & yet still reciting her prayers. what about that deserved penalty? what about her hard work & attempts to help her kingdom had made hylia look upon her & deem her unworthy?
SHE WAS STILL searching for the answer. & until she found it ( until she realized that she misunderstood, until she came across the thought that, just maybe, hylia was wrong ), she was dealing with complicated emotions that were difficult to reign in.
BUT, EVEN SO, miri didnât deserve the cold shoulder she had been given. she had been...rude, unkind & downright mean in the way she attempted to draw away, & that was no way for a princess to treat her subjects.
MORE IMPORTANTLY, IT was no way for anyone to treat a friend. even knowing this, she hesitated, trying to craft the perfect apologyâââ she paced & thought & practiced phrases, almost laughing without humor at the way it mirrored the way she attempted to find her words to apologize to link a century prior. as usual, however, things never went the way she expected.
IN THE END, it was miri who approached her. she couldnât tell if she just looked particularly despondent, or if it was miriâs attempt at extending the proverbial olive branch but, in the end, it truly didnât matter.
   â thank you. â
ZELDAâS VOICE WAS soft in her surprise, & it was only her propriety that stopped her jaw from dropping entirely. she still sat up straight, gaze forward, as regal as she could muster, but she couldnât do a thing about the way her fingers fidgeted, tapping her fingers against her seat in her nervousness.
â i...i would like to offer the same. â
SHE FINALLY TURNED, & she hoped her smile won out over any nervousness that might have slipped into her expression.
â should you need someone to talk to, i will happily lend an ear. â
IT HADNâT BEEN what she wanted to say. miri deserved more than that, she deserved a proper apology. but the air between them felt clearer, the weight on her shoulders lighter, & zelda knew she had said something right. the apology would come another day, that she promised. for now, they were content, & she wasnât going to ruin that.
