Quiet Distance, Clear Mind
I don’t argue for understanding anymore.
I don’t beg to be handled gently.
I don’t rehearse speeches in the mirror hoping someone will finally hear me.
I learned something deeper.
Silence shows me more than words ever did.
When effort becomes consistent, I notice.
When responsibility replaces excuses, I notice.
When respect becomes natural instead of negotiated, I notice.
And when old patterns try to return —
so does my distance.
Not loud.
Not dramatic.
Not emotional warfare.
Just space.
Because peace isn’t something I fight for anymore.
It’s something I maintain.
I can care without carrying.
I can love without losing myself.
I can remember without reopening wounds.
Growth taught me this:
Access to me is earned through steadiness.
Not intensity.
Not apologies.
Not temporary effort.
So I stay soft.
I stay aware.
I stay sovereign.
And if I step back,
it’s not to punish —
It’s to protect the calm I worked hard to build.
