I took forever to respond to this, but Better the Wool and Death and the Maiden are the same story up until the point where the Lamb kneels to be sacrificed or stands to defend herself— so that means that the Fox has that scar from her stomping a hole through the top of his muzzle in both AU's! He left the area around the cult after the confrontation that left him with the scar, and while it's not been mentioned yet in DatM, Firn had to search hard to find the Fox at first again because of that.
