Life was a roller coaster for Ana, a woman raised with strict parents and strong convictions, religion was a daily part of her life. Although she does not preach, she still holds some of the values she was taught close to her heart. It was not easy to get through college, but Ana was always energetic and rarely allowed herself time to breathe between work. Always loud, she speaks her mind and does not care who knows her feelings on any given subject, even if it may offend some. She knew hard work would get her far. After obtaining her doctorate degree in Florida, Ana taught in Georgia then New Jersey before a permanent position opened at Cabot Creek University and she applied immediately. She has been teaching there for six years.

Although she would shudder to hear it, some of her students consider her crazy. She is loud and occasionally aggressive in her teaching and many find her instruction unnecessarily complicated. Professor Rojas occasionally talks about her personal life, which can be uncomfortable.

Her colleagues don’t know what to do with her. Ana is sometimes over-the-top, but she finds a niche that she loves and that gets along well with her.

Alessandra is not just a pretty face, though there’s no denying how gorgeous she is either. It would be a lie if this Latina beauty said her looks had never helped her in life either; by now, you’ve probably already recognized her from her modelling career. Nearly two decades ago, Alessandra was one of the world’s biggest models, gracing the covers of magazines like Vogue and Sport’s Illustrated, and walking in runways for the highest designers. She started modelling as a young teen, and grew to fame by the time she was 20. Easily, it was the height of her career. At such a young age, she had enough curves that made her ‘exotic’, but not enough to make her undesirable in the waif-obsession turn of the century… for a while, anyways. She was applauded and took a lot of pride in her heritage and roots, representing a large demographic of girls and women, especially of minority, that didn’t fit the Western ideals at the time.

Unfortunately, even though her puberty may have been delayed, but she started developing her womanly curves and by 25, her career as a model was over. She was just another pretty face, rejected by society’s bodily ideals. This infuriated Alessandra, but there was nothing she could do it about it. It took her years before she could finally accept and embrace her body. She tried to make a small comeback, but it fell flat. Everything she had ever known in her life, her dreams and aspirations, were suddenly impossible. The one thing she did have, though, was her spirit and passion. She had always wanted to make a change in the world, but her career had come first. Now that that was over…. why not make them the same thing? Alessandra made the decision to move to America, where she enrolled in University and got herself a psychology degree.

What better way to make a difference than to start with the youngest group that needs the most help? And right around graduation, suddenly she made her way back into the tabloids. They were slamming her for no reason, other than to say that she was a flopped star who was trying to survive now that her body was ‘useless’. Alessandra wasn’t just a pretty face, and she was going to prove that, to herself and to everyone else. She was smart, and with that she knew that the paparazzi, the media, anyone and everyone would take every second they got to embarrass her. All she has to do is keep her cool and lie low, and hopefully this would all blow over. There’s no better place to seclude yourself than a middle-of-nowhere live-in facility like Serenity. She has grown to be a funny, but stern woman. Even with her diploma, she still doesn’t get taken seriously by many of her coworkers, especially her male counterparts. Sure, looks can help, but she is more than that and she wants other people to see it too.
