Politics aside (impossible, I know, but let’s pretend for a moment), look at the behavior displayed in the #kavanaughhearings today. A woman who has been ridiculed and attacked for sharing one of the most difficult moments in her life while staying calm and collected versus a man who yelled and evaded questions within minutes. And women are the ones who are “too emotional for politics”. This isn’t even a trial! This isn’t even deciding his guilt or innocence! It’s a nomination for a highly privileged job. That’s it. We’ll find out if he “got the job” or not tomorrow but these proceedings have sparked a much more important movement. I believe Dr. Ford. Saying that does not negate my belief that people are presumed innocent until proven guilty. That’s still true. One would hope that our justice system will do its job, but it’s doubtful there will even be an investigation to find out the truth at this point. Shocking. I’m not debating about this. In fact, I’ll probably ignore any comments cause it’s been an exhausting day and everyone’s mind is made up anyway. My hope is that maybe we’ll all start to at least listen to women and all victims. So many of us have our stories to tell and having a kind, sympathetic ear can only help. I’m so tired. My weekend in pictures. Friday night Baby Miles snuggles with @tasha_pfeifer and @call_me_adrienne. He is such an adorable babe! And crawling!!! Then Saturday delicious lunch with J at @juicebox_cafe (seriously I need to learn how to make their food and juices and MCT Butter coffee!!) and a chill night in making every veggie from my CSA. SUNDAY: smoothie and “grilled” peaches with ricotta for breakfast, and @swansonsnurseryseattle for all the airplants, succulents, and fiddle leaf fig supplies (because we’re basic bitches but I love all plants equally) and Ballard Farmer’s Market (commence anxiety attack from too many ppl).
