Baboons make vowel sounds similar to humans revealing the evolution of language, study finds
Researchers' analysis of the monkeys' grunts, barks, ‘wahoos’, ‘yaks’ and copulation calls could have major implications for the evolution of language
Baboons make five distinct vowel-like sounds much like humans, according to new research which suggests language began to evolve about 25 million years ago, much earlier than previously thought.
It was thought that baboons, a type of monkey, lacked the right kind of larynx to make such a range of sounds.
However an acoustical analysis of their grunts, barks, ‘wahoos’, ‘yaks’ and copulation calls found they were capable of remarkably human vocalisations.

So I just met Obama
GOOD LORD he threw SO MUCH SHADE in his speech at republicans. The man has no chill. The highlights consist of him mentioning KU's Coach Self, being called Barack Chalk Jayhawk, telling Lawrence that we're more advanced in business than most of America, but my favorite was when he said "women and men should be paid equal for doing the SAME jobs. I mean that's like a NO BRAINER" and then there was a huge cheer and the Republicans looked so freaking pissed off and it was beautiful. The man was so sassy about the Republicans in Congress. He was like, "If the republicans in Congress think the people will minimum wage jobs can support themselves and their families with less than $15,000 a year, I'm like alright, why don't YOU go and try it and see if you can do it." Basically he wants to better middle class economics but that's not possible, he says, to do without the taxes of the top 1% of .01% and their support. Furthermore, he says that it's totally OK for Republicans to come to him and say "No I don't like your ideas" but then he said "if you don't like my ideas, alright, that's perfectly fine, but you have to tell me an idea YOU have that's better. You can just say NO. Republicans can't just keep saying NO to everything without better ideas. You can say NO sometimes but to progress as a country we need YES. YES to equal taxes for everyone. YES to free community college for 2 years. YES to better child care. YES to women being paid equal" MY FAVORITE was when he was like "People need to stop acting like child care is a quote un-quote 'womens' problem. ITS A FAMILY PROBLEM." The men everywhere looked so furious and it was beautiful. And when he addressed us as Jayhawks and mentioned that no matter if we were young or old or rich or not rich or white or black or republican or democratic or gay or straight we were all Americans, conservatives all around looked so angry at his mention of "gay and straight" and I was like GOD BLESS U OBAMA FOR THAT because God knows KU conservatives need a slap in the face. His shade at the Republican Congress members was hilarious and his proposals were, for once, really reasonable. He was clearly trying to talk about issues that appealed to us as a college-aged generation, and he did touch upon some great economic issues. Afterwards he got off stage and shook hands with many of the reporters INCLUDING MYSELF *freaks out a little* What a great day.
FALSE.
Forensicators, AmmIright?
Sometimes I just want to freak out at all of these mainstream fans. You truly don't understand anything. You're not dedicated you're not into their personalities nothing. If you are a good fan you literally get attached to them emotionally, and you feel emotion towards them. It's not just "Oh they're hot." no. You get attached to their lyrics and their smiles. Their personality gets you hooked and everything they do is literally just perfect. Then you start getting angry at all the silly wannabe fans. Gah. You don't understand what it's like to be a fangirl.
