In a world that forces us to lose ourselves, attaining spiritual enlightenment becomes a never-ending quest. There are a lot of temptations that bait us away from our true purpose. Once baited, we live through vanity and become excessively proud over empty achievements. These are the kind of achievements that attempt to fill the void but cannot. When we feel empty, we should begin to wonder deeply of our worth rather than resorting to distractions. Distractions are only a momentary high to keep us busy. However, when the emotions they bring expire, the crushing weight of a familiar emptiness crashes in. Seeking spiritual enlightenment helps us fill this emptiness. But, what are the ways of attaining it? Ways to Seek Spiritual Enlightenment Attaining spiritual enlightenment means reaching a higher level of consciousness. Hence, we’ll rise from the wrecks of any adversities that come across us. While it’s true that seeking enlightenment is difficult, it is never at all unattainable. Here’s a list of ways that guarantees you spiritual enlightenment attainment: Muster the courage to face predicaments When troubles arise, we should not build an escape route. Some of us tempt ourselves to cope troubles with damaging habits. As a result, our problems aggregate. Thereafter, once the momentary highs wear off, the problems crashes in altogether. We should never let fear take over us as problems occur. Fear makes illusions of our problems by seemingly amplifying them. Face your problems. Of course, it’s a fearful undertaking weaved with difficulties. These difficulties will bring out who we are, and, through them, we’ll realize profound things. Your real identity matters In a world that lives up to societal ideals, we have learned to compromise our identities. What exactly for? To please everyone? It’s a total waste of the person you are. Never allow shallow ideals to reduce the greatness of who you truly are. There are a lot of things that have forced the real us into hiding. Cultural and geographical conditioning plays a part in this. However, if we constantly ask ourselves “who am I”, we are one step of discovering who we are. Thusly, all the false ideals shatter apart and we attain spiritual enlightenment. Invest energetically on self-love We seek genuine love, yet our self-love is in a poverty-stricken state. Self-love is acknowledging your worth, which leads you to relationships that value your existence. Most relationships today don’t last long. And, I’m not just talking about romantic relationships. The desperation to seek love in others forces you to compromise your own value. You simply just want to please them and not mind if they’ve done the unforgivable. And, you tolerate their actions, making you a martyr of a failed cause. Due to the lack of self-love, others take advantage of you. Know yourself. Learn to love yourself. Recognize your worth. Don’t let others’ opinions of you dim your worth. Remember, no man could ever love genuinely if he doesn’t love himself. By investing in self-love, you grant yourself the enlightenment of how worthy you are of love. Practice meditation Meditation is an ancient practice that strives to achieve spiritual enlightenment: Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night (Psalm 1: 1-2). Through meditation, you can get rid of external disturbances and find your inner peace. Inner peace helps you concentrate on your true essence. By constant practice of meditation, your judgments become clearer and do not waver on troubled waters. This practice will certainly bring you closer to the Lord. The journey to higher spiritual consciousness sure is a tough one. Make sure you list the four ways mentioned above to keep yourself reminded of them.
