Sure he's not very expressive about feelings but he is a character who feels and feels intensely and quickly. I've pretty much always headcanoned him to be a hopeless romantic to his own horror and disgust. He would catch feelings first, not recognize them, and then the minute he does do everything possible to kill them. He'd fail at that too.
