This weekend we will be heading to Mission Hills Park for a group investigation with San Diego paranormal eye. Mission Hills Park aka Pioneer Park hasn't always been a place where you'd take your children on a quiet Sunday afternoon to play, between 1875 and 1919 it was actually a Catholic Cemetery. The last burial to be reported there was in 1960. In 1968, San Diego County declared the cemetery abandoned and they moved forward with their plans of creating a public park. Workers began digging up the 800+ gravestones and markers and discarding them in a local ravine located behind the St Hope Cemetery. When they did this, they left one important thing behind, the remains of the deceased. Some family members came to collect their loved ones and paid for a reburial, but most were left due to the fact that they didn't have any surviving family members. In 1970 the park was complete, it's now a place where you can take the family for a picnic, it's also a place where school children from the adjoining Grant Elementary school can play. Over the years, there have been many ghostly sightings where the old cemetery used to be. Are these spirits at rest? or are they being disturbed by the pitter patter of tiny feet across their unmarked graves? SoCal Paranormal are about to find out.
