It was a long day. One of many, so James didn't really pay attention to it, about as much as he stopped paying attention to the document he was supposed to read, but ended up staring blankly at. At least this time he thought about retreating to bed, before Clover would come pester him about it.

The pile of blankets on his bed looks comfortable, so he doesn't disturb it. Gladly he takes his one blanket that still belongs to him and slides on the bed right by the pile. Smile brightens his tired face, when he realizes how safe and relaxed he feels sleeping with a Grimm. He can't truly consider Clover a monster, but the little purely technical fact makes it amusing on top of the other fact that... he's just happy.

Cool touch on his cheek brings him back from soft, bit tangled cotton of his thoughts. Red eyes are watching him closely, and he feels a thumb gently trace over his cheekbone.
