@mordland​ sent 7 and 14 for the Writing Asks, except whoops I’m an idiot and I did do 14, I’d meant to say I hadn’t done 15, so I will do that one instead. 7. What kinds of imagery or devices do you use most in your writing? I keep coming back to the image of the heart as an object you can possess, or a space you can occupy. “I gave you my heart, and I mean that literally, because I’m opening up my chest and handing it to you, also it’s an apple.” I honestly think I keep coming back to it because this moment in The Simpsons got imprinted on my brain as a kid. Also, I use a lot of oceanic imagery, a lot of space stuff. Anything vast and terrifying and awe inspiring and mysterious and could kill you. Like love! My favorite device is telling a story non-linearly. The Sound and the Fury is my favorite book, the third season of Moral Orel is one of my favorite seasons of any show because they fuck with story structure and timelines. I used to love How I Met Your Mother for this reason. But it is dead to me now. So.   15. Write or describe an alternative ending to [insert fic]. Before I started participating in fandom again I did a lot of lurking on AO3 and Livejournal. And there’s this one fic. That haunts me. It was written before Doomstar aired; after Toki disappears, he wakes up in an idyllic, strange place, with a benevolent but mysterious caretaker. His caretaker is kind but oddly insistent on keeping Toki where he is. Meanwhile, Skwisgaar, with the help of Ishnifus, realizes his place in The Prophecy is finding Toki and bringing him home, alone. It’s just. All of it is wonderful and captivating and there’s this part when Toki’s caretaker asking why Toki always calls out for “Sisgah” in his sleep that stuck in me and it was never finished!!!!!!! What happens!!! Where’s Toki! Does he escape??? Does Skwisgaar save him????? Do they make out?????? It hasn’t been updated since 2012 (that links to the last chapter, but includes links to previous chapters) and I just want an ending. So, that. I want an ending to that.  (Also worth noting here that I love everything turnip_girl wrote. Her Skwisgaar is P E R F E C T.)
