who are all your favorite characters? can you describe them like why you like them in particular?
Jackdawfoot
He was the first one created for the blog. He feels like a mascot even though I don't yap about him like I do others. He's close to my heart.
In life he was xenophobic and killed kittypets (more because it's easier than killing Clan cats and he would release his pent-up anger on them and less because he wanted kittypets dead simply for being kittypets. Still bad though). In the Dark Forest, because ranks and positions don't matter and everyone is in the same boat, he actually became a lot better and hates the cat he was in life. He's protective of his family, and is seen as a father-figure by several younger cats

Myrtlewing & Alderstar
Partial reason is because I like creating characters based on characters in whichever show I'm fixated on and because of that I think about them a lot more.
Basically: evil medicine cat and evil leader working together.
Myrtlewing was the "born bad" type mostly because his dead Dark Forest family members encouraged certain bad habits whereas Alderstar could have been good, but his relationship with Myrtlewing pulled him onto a dark path.
Alder's first victim was unexpected, he and another warrior caught Myrtlewing killing another Clanmate. Alder panicked, not thinking, and killed the other witness.
Also they're gay and in a poly with two innocent cats, Grousemane and Hootpetal.
You can read about how their relationship developes in stories here! (They were each other's best friends. Aldereyes thought of Myrtlewing as a clumsy fool, but also as the most loyal cat he had ever known, and the most important cat to him. but all his ideas about who his closest friend was was beaten and questioned when he found the healer with his fangs holding the throat of a dead Clanmate.)

Wavespark & Archice
Same character reason as above but also because I find this dynamic really funny
V bases by Lumiklyde on DeviantArt
Basically Wavespark was a serial killer who tried to kill Archice, but he survived. Wavespark then blackmailed and threatened him into helping him with more murders.
Very toxic relationship. They adopt kits and it is toxic all around.

Gorseheart
By KhaotixVex on DeviantArt
The first character fixation I turned into a cat.
He was a good cat for most of his life, then suffered a lot and couldn't turn to any of his friends when he needed them most. Years of built-up rage, injustice, and resentment boiled over. His first victim was accidental--he pushed someone who was goading him on and they drowned.
He was going to tell his leader/friend, and confess. But before he could say anything, he was already met with anger and ridicule. He decided to keep it a secret...and later began to kill more.
He was killed when his food was spiked with an hallucinogen. He imagined his victims were after him, and ran into a thorn bush, eventually dying from the thousands of cuts as he was trapped.
In the Dark Forest, he helps those that are weaker than him and listens to cat's problems because no one listened to him. AKA Hell's therapist.
Basically the "hero's young companion/little-brother figure who they thought would always be fighting by their side turned against the hero and it's kind of the hero's fault" trope

Mouseshell
Base by sweetbloodcat on DeviantArt
Just a silly girl.
Her medicine cat uncle had a vision of two kits destined for greatness just before her mother went into labor. She should have had a grand destiny, the fate of a hero. But it was not meant for her. Instead, the vision was of her sisters--her birth was not foreseen at all. As such, cats wondered why Mouseshell was left out, and believed that it was best to not give her important tasks just to be safe.
For many moons, Mouseshell tried to prove herself to her Clanmates, and more importantly, to her family. But she got pushed too far and realized that she was better without them. She thought that she no longer needed their attention. That is, until a horrible incident caused her to receive more attention from her worried family than she could ever dream of, and she couldn't help but want to renew that attention, that worry, and with them, those horrible accidents.
Instead of suffering in Hell, she turned her afterlife into her hot-girl summer and has a fantastic time, laying on a floaty and going down rivers of blood like they're lazy rivers at splash parks, bathing suit and sunglasses on, and a coconut drink in hand.

Lani & Snowbrook
Lesbian enemies to lovers.
Snowbrook had hated Lani the moment the daft kittypet stepped foot onto ShadowClan territory. Those negative feelings only increased when Lani became mates with Sporeglade, who Snowbrook had wanted to be with. But when Lani accidentally murdered the deputy of ThunderClan, Snowbrook was quick to help her hide the body--if only to avoid a war with ThunderClan.
The secret brought the two she-cats closer, as did the misery that came with their actions. Together, they worked to find out why Peatfox had been in their territory, and in doing so they uncovered a plot kill the leaders of WindClan, ShadowClan, and ThunderClan--a plot Sporeglade had orchestrated.
Sporeglade tried to kill Lani when he realized she would not keep quiet, and Snowbrook killed him for it. Later, when Lani brought the news to their leader, Flamestar didn't believe her. As punishment for killing Peatfox and Sporeglade, the two of them were sentenced to be executed. Lani took the blame for it all so that Snowbrook would be spared, much to the other she-cat's dismay.
Her heart completely shattered with Lani's death, Snowbrook sought revenge on any cat unlucky enough to cross her path, until she was lured away by a would-be-victim and impaled on Twoleg scraps.

Toadjump & Birchspark
For the mentorXapprentice / surrogate father/child turned bad dynamic. I dive into them a lot here
Birch hates Toad for betraying the Clan and betraying him, for hurting cats they promised to protect. He hates him for the pain he's caused him, but still can't stop himself from caring for him. He wonders if it's his fault Toad did what he did.
(Toad killed anyone he thought would cause trouble for the Clan in a way to prevent future trouble that could become catastrophic. Birch killed Rosestar--who did actually deserve it--to stop the war, which is why he's also in the Dark Forest).

Fernpaw
Because her story is so sad.
A child dies early and grows bitter from her family not mourning her and forgetting about her, so she lashes out, gets found out, and gets sent to Hell for eternity.

Aphidsong & Charhoot
For the StarClanXDark Forest dynamic. StarClan cat and Dark Forest cat are best friends and very close, and worked together in an attempt to destroy the Clans.
Their story is quite long, so summary below images

Aphid:
While alive, Aphidsong was treated horribly after joining ThunderClan to be with her mate. When she refused to have kits with him just to please him, he became angry. The fight resulted in her being pushed over a ravine where she was heavily injured. Though she survived, no one listened to her, as everyone believed she was a liar and a horrible cat. She was, after all, the outsider, and her mate was their Clanmate since he was born.
By the time Aphidsong left the Clan, she was so full of anguish and bitterness due to this mistreatment as well as the death of her apprentice caused by a neglectful warrior, that she decided to make the Clan pay. She did so by poisoning any herb she could find in the territory. She herself was later poisoned when she ate a shrew tainted by her work.
In the Dark Forest, she and Charhoot--a StarClan cat and her best friend in life--both realized how horrible Clan life was. For Half-Clan cats, Clan swappers, rogues, loners, and kittypets. Even its own full-blooded members suffered because of it, dying preventable deaths in needless battles. The pair agreed that something must be done, and decided to end Clan life--believing the deaths they caused now were worth saving the many lives in the future. After they were defeated, she and Charhoot both decided to let go of the past and focus on what lies ahead of them.
Over the course of several seasons, the pair would travel through the Dark Forest in search of a place to live. After much time and after gaining new members, they found a spot at the Gaping Maws by the Gossamer Trees, and settled there, creating the Whitebell Family.
Char:
Due to facing pressure from his parents to settle down with a she-cat, Charhoot and Aphidsong became fake-mates to get them off of his back. Later, he met with a barn cat on the border, and when Aphidsong found out, she encouraged him to follow his heart. He did, and lived as a barn cat as the tom's mate for some time, frequently being visited by Aphidsong. He then travelled around, discovering many things, seeing new sights, and meeting new toms, before eventually returning to the barn.
