birchfur :(

also i drew the birchfur scene like. half a year ago. she was 156 moons old when she died, but i couldn't really fit that in there. everything else was sketched but just now done.

Prefacing this with the fact that they would probably be in their prime during the mid-late 70s/80s (assuming they can't go back further than 1960, cause I believe that's when the Clans were formed?) (plus it fits cause that's the famous serial-killer time)

Books:

Myrtlewing would really be into non-fiction crime books and psychology as well as psychological horror. He also enjoys reading about poisonous plants. His favourite fiction book would probably be An Unsuitable Job For A Woman, because he would enjoy the main character's understanding of the mind.

Alderstar doesn't read. Put on subtitles and he's going to sleep.

Hootpetal likes reading books but she gets frustrated because she can only read specific types of books to keep her interest. Her favourite author is Shirly Jackson and she mostly just reads all her books over and over.

Grousemane reads kid's books because those are actually fun and not dramatic or gloomy like everything else is. He also likes those books that are filled with jokes.

TV Shows

Grousemane: The Muppet Show, Batman (animated), generally cartoons

Alderstar: M*A*S*H, The Golden Girls (claims he just watches it with Hootpetal because she likes it, secretly enjoys it), and Miami Vice

Hootpetal: The Golden Girls, Hunter, and Welcome Back, Kotter, (wb Kotter being one)

Myrtlewing: Unsolved Mysteries, Murder, She Wrote. Also enjoys watching the news and seeing people distraught.

Movies

Alderstar: The Outsiders, Stand By Me (but he hates Stephen King because he tried to read one of his books once and it was just weird, like how many fetishes does this guy need us to know he has??)

Grousemane: any superhero movie. Likes action and adventure, hates movies considered "art" and "think-pieces."

Myrtlewing: The Omen (thinks it's hilarious), Don't Look Now, various psychological horror movies and black-and-white movies

Hootpetal: nature films, Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Note: every member of the poly has been kicked out of a movie theatre at least once for different things

Note 2: they all hate any romance thing because it usually includes a love-triangle and it annoys the hell out of them

Video Games:

Young Alder would hit the arcade regularly. Hootpetal always wanted to, but never could because it wasn't "lady-like." Sometime after they bought a house together, Alder bought a machine (for himself, not knowing Hootpetal liked them) and Hootpetal instantly used it. He was surprised by her passion, but loved seeing it.

Hootpetal: Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Space-Invaders, countless others

Alderstar: xevious, metroid, Pac-Man

Grousemane: Frogger, Super Mario Bros

I think that it was most likely a warning (very cryptic and vague) about basically keeping him away from Myrtle, because if he wasn’t nearly as close to him, and further if he didn’t feel so isolated from the rest of the Clan, he wouldn’t have become a killer and may have actually been quite the noble warrior/leader

BUT Gorsedaisy didn’t care. After all her trauma with the barn, being haunted, and Redjay, all she sees is a cat destined for evil. She knows that StarClan believes there’s a chance for him, but she doesn’t.

I mentioned it before, but she secretly told Shimmerstone to stay away from him because Sweettree’s sickness was contagious (it wasn’t), leading to Alderkit catching greencough. That REALLY lowered everyone’s view of her. They didn’t think she did anything deliberately, they just thought she was too out of it because of whatever she experienced during the flood or perhaps because of her age or an unnamed mental problem.

Eventually her apprentice, Hickorskip, went to the leader suggesting he make Gorsedaisy retire

Did not expect to really get into this when I made the post just a few minutes ago but now my energy is BUZZING and I am really interested with how I can decide the affects for different characters, so here's a list!

Perchclaw

CoD: bitten by an adder snake

Physical Characteristics: At first glance, he looks like a cat. He has no scales, he still has his legs. He sounds like a cat, too. But his body is a little longer than that of a normal cat, but not unsubtly so. His fangs are sharper and longer than normal. When he eats, his jaws open a little too wide. When he speaks, cats can see--if they can get a good glance--that his tongue is split. Whenever he hisses, it sounds more like a snake than a cat.

Personality Traits: loves sunning himself on rocks, likes moist environments and places where he can be sheltered well.

Alderstar

CoD: crushed by a tree (multiple lives taken)

Physical Characteristics: his claws grow much faster than that of a normal cat, instead resembling the speed of a growing branch, and he has to cut them often so he can walk properly. The goes for his teeth as well (and cutting them is much more difficult). His pelt darkens every now and again, growing out before shedding and allowing the regular golden colour to be seen again (the whole pelt doesn't shed, just the long dark fur. The golden one grows underneath until it pushes the dark fur out). Sometimes parts of his body start to sprout a secondary part. Smaller claws will begin to grow on his claws, smaller teeth on his regular ones, and those are much more painful to get rid of (but if he doesn't, they will grow into a problem). Sometimes when his pelt grows long, it will grow especially long strands--strands of clumps of hair that can stretch from his spine down to the ground. But that's painful to get rid of as well, because it's not just fur--it's his own skin stretching out into tendrils, trying to expand. The fur is simply growing on it.
