Imagine like an Eridian with a small amount of something radioactive in their carapase, like not enough to kill an eridian cause I have a feeing those guys would have a pretty stong resistance to it (being made of heavy metals and all that) its just being blasted from all sides in space would kill anyone.
So when Grace meets them hes so confused because this Eridian is lowkey glowing. Mentally, he starts going over naturally generating elements that can glow (cause while on the trip to Erid he decided he might as well become a geologist before meeting eridians). And minorly freaks out cause this guy glows and might be radioactive. So like obviously the first thing to do is to NOT TELL ANYONE cause if he does theyre gonna freak out and this little guy is gonna get fucking LYNCHED.
And so he'll get his own Geiger counter and find out that this guy is just a little bit too close to the human cancer causing limit for comfort. Its just a matter of telling someone who wouldnt panic.
Thus leads Grace to a meeting with said Eridian, Adrian, a couple of the most reasonable eridian scientists and Grace in a protective radioactive shielded xenonite suit that hed gotten from Rocky before he left the Mary when they arrived to Erid, cause he didnt want Grace to drop dead when they were so close.
Rocky was sent really far away for a thrum and will have no way of knowing that Grace and Adrian are meeting with this Eridian to inform the that they cant be around Grace cause they might accidentally intentionally and indirectly kill the man later down the line.
