reflect, aspire, and memorize! bonne annΓ©e, cherie! xxxx
reflect: what are 3 things you have accomplished this year that you are proud of?
i actually fulfilled my resolutions from last year! i think because for the first time i didnβt set goals but loosely tasked myself with exploring new things. i learned to sew! every day is a new chance to create something from nothing now. amazing! i grew vegetables! we managed to get a full crop of brocoli and lettuces and one beautiful capsicum before the slugs got to them. and i really took charge of what i wanted from my life, which unfortunately turned out to be dropping out of grad school, again, oops. but iβm really surprised that i made some strong, difficult decisions and stuck to them.Β
aspire: what are 3 things you want to achieve next year?Β
i just started messing around with embroidery, god itβs so good. iβd really like to get better, which i think means finding/developing a style that matches what i see in my head. iβd also like to be more adventurous, say yes to more things, say no to more things, just generally expand the boundaries of my life a little further. and iβd love to live alone!
memorize: describe in detail the happiest day you've had this year.
was 2019 one year or two? i canβt really remember when things happened. but i did go to a few parties early on in the year at the same house (an engagement, a birthday, a friday night with nothing to do) where weβd sit outside, me and all of my friends, listening to great music in the late summer heat with the jasmine vines smelling incredible, talking for hours about who knows what. m was always there and i felt giddy and excited, standing in the kitchen with the girls talking about it or making eyes across the garden, and feeling so in love with the whole situation, feeling so much like a part of something iβd missed out on my whole life. the details got lost but thatβs when i remember feeling the happiest.
merci nico, mon pβtit chou!
