#snail dad

How it's going:

On Monday I became the father of 2 adorable little milk snails!! The one sitting on the wolf is Geralt, and the other sitting on the Castle is Jaskier! I'm so excited to be a snail owner! I haven't handled them yet because they've only just got here and I want them to settle in before I try anything, but I'm so glad they're here!!

I got 2 little milks snails the other day, and for the first few days things were going great, they were active and eating and very friendly. But the one went into his hide and hasn't come put in 2 days, and then tonight his companion hasn't moved all night, I know because Quarantine fucked my sleep schedule so I'm awake when they are. They have food (spinach and carrots), cuttlebone, get misted at least 3x a day (usually more but not enough to make the substrate into mud), sphagnum moss, and inside their temperature stays within 70-75°F (20-25°C I believe). I'm really worried about them because I've only had them a week (they came on Monday, were active Tuesday, and then after that one hasn't moved and the other wasn't active tonight) and things were going fine but now they don't want to come out. Bc of some issues with USPS they spent almost 3 weeks in transit so I'm guessing they may be a bit worn out by that. Are they just recovering from shipping? Or should I be worried? They were doing fine before and I'm a nervous first time parent.
