maybe it’s just me, but as a kid being told I could “do better” because I was a “smart kid” never really inspired me to actually do better it just made me feel bad for not being good enough

kid genius problem #1
when you get a 98 on a test and nearly have a heart attack
I keep getting invitations to go on trips over the summer for medical stuff, like learning stuff about “techniques not released to the general public”, but they’re in NYC or Boston. I really want to go, bc they give credits for colleges (i think?) and I would learn cool stuff and see a surgery and ask doctors things, but I literally have no means of transportation to get there. It also costs, like, over $900 for each different one I’m getting and my family doesnt have enough money for that
I'm taking the SAT tomorrow for the first time, wish me luck.
