Q: Have you seen Hamilton yet? What did you think? It's been so good to watch the full musical whenever I want. Before I just binged listen to the soundtrack and rewatched old live performances of a few of the numbers. I love having musicals readily accessible to everyone, and its really brought new life to the songs I have listened to hundreds of times. Also look at my new little plant. ~~ Book Thoughts ~~ 🌙 QOTD: Favorite sibling duo? Do you have any siblings in real life? If so, how many? 🌙 Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas 🌙 All I have to say about this is WOW the world in this story was amazing. Maas really knows how to create amazing fantastical worlds with her writing. I loved the magical system with the different houses & with all the unique characters & creatures. I was just blown away by the writing and the world building with this book. Surprisingly, I also liked the main characters a lot, Bryce & Hunt, because there were so raw, so real, filled with realistic emotions of love and grief. I loved seeing the deep, brutal emotions that both of these two went through with the present & their pasts. My other fave character is Ruhn & his amazing loyalty to his sister no matter who she is. Ruhn & Bruce are an amazing brother-sister duo that I just absolutely loved from the beginning. I think I appreciated the underlying theme that Maas wrote about in this story & that is grief. Grief is real, grief is raw, grief is hard, and Maas showed just how real, raw, & hard it can be on someone. Not everybody copes in a healthy way & I think i appreciated Maas showing the side of grief that isn’t what you would call “healthy”. And she showed how guilt can really mess with a person negatively after a loved one’s death. While I did love the story, the book is unnecessarily long (like 799 pages long) and first half is suuuuper slow. So I realized that I have no pleasing aesthetic going on my feed. I’ll try harder to make these pictures more aesthetically pleasing (mainly for myself 😂) ——————- I started reading Every Breath by Nicholas Sparks, and I’m so far liking it. First two chapters are just talking about the characters, but I’m loving their backstories anyways. This is my first time reading any of his novels, but I have seen the Notebook.
