~~ Book Thoughts ~~ π QOTD: Favorite sibling duo? Do you have any siblings in real life? If so, how many? π Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas π All I have to say about this is WOW the world in this story was amazing. Maas really knows how to create amazing fantastical worlds with her writing. I loved the magical system with the different houses & with all the unique characters & creatures. I was just blown away by the writing and the world building with this book. Surprisingly, I also liked the main characters a lot, Bryce & Hunt, because there were so raw, so real, filled with realistic emotions of love and grief. I loved seeing the deep, brutal emotions that both of these two went through with the present & their pasts. My other fave character is Ruhn & his amazing loyalty to his sister no matter who she is. Ruhn & Bruce are an amazing brother-sister duo that I just absolutely loved from the beginning. I think I appreciated the underlying theme that Maas wrote about in this story & that is grief. Grief is real, grief is raw, grief is hard, and Maas showed just how real, raw, & hard it can be on someone. Not everybody copes in a healthy way & I think i appreciated Maas showing the side of grief that isnβt what you would call βhealthyβ. And she showed how guilt can really mess with a person negatively after a loved oneβs death. While I did love the story, the book is unnecessarily long (like 799 pages long) and first half is suuuuper slow.
