#small cages

I am so frustrated and trying to stay strong, my rats are very stressed recently, idk if it has to do with the new boys? Or that Noot might have cancer and maybe they are struggling with that? Maybe they know she isn’t feeling well?

The thing is, I’ve been so patient, I’ve spent days and weeks slowly getting them used to eat other, even months honestly, first just occasionally seeing each other and smelling each other on the rat robe and the cages then living in cages near each other then hanging out in the robe all together then hanging out in small cages and moving up in cage sizes slowly, they hung out all day and then they started staying the night all together in the smaller cages and I hen finally he leap to the big double critter nation and even though they have done so well with all the other stages there is something about TipToe and apple pie being in the big cage that all of the other girls are getting so upset over and every time I trust them enough to leave for awhile and pave all of the girls together I. The CN they start to chase and bite tiptoe and apple pie and I hear horrendous screaming and it just makes me feel awful and so even though I try to let them work through things I am also fearful for how much stress it is causing all parties.

I was reading a pamphlet on factory farming and this one quote really angered me. It said, “It’s incredibly cruel but they is how we are told to do it”....this is referring to Piglets that have had their intestines fall during castration and are dropped into a gas cart to be killed later until more were inside to justify expanding the gas. Many of these piglets are found still alive and gasping for air. The DEATH is SUPPOSED to take up to 5 minutes but it lasts 10 or more.

What I don’t get is if you know that this is cruel, then stop doing it. Change the system. Don’t just except the fact. This is what I hate about factory farming. I have read a  ton of information and if you think these places are humane then get yourself educated because they aren't. 

Sometimes these animals are still conscious while they are killed, birds are put into tight cages with their filth which causes sever burns due to the ammonia. The animals that get sick or injured are stuffed with not only growth hormones but antibiotics. Most of the antibiotics that are created are used in factory farms. Plus, these growth hormones make animals grow in such an unnatural speed that their weight literally crushes them. With no veterinary treatment what so ever. Mother pigs are used as breading machines with their piglets taken from them after only a few weeks. These animals are packed into tight places and never experience the outside world and their lives are cut unnaturally short. Something like this could be prevented yet people LOVE their MEAT to much and it’s such a economic industry no one cares who suffers during the process because they are too ignorant and haven’t educated themselves on this.

Plus, the way the people handle these animals is even worse. People injure these animals. Which is something I don’t get is if a dog was getting beat by it’s owners everybody would get angry but if it’s a pig, it’s like no one bats an eye. Like it’s not a big deal. WHY DOES ONE ANIMALS LIFE MATTER YET NOT THE OTHER!? Explain this to me because I don’t get it and I don’t think I ever will. How can we determine what life matters or not?

We don’t need to butcher animals to survive. These animals never experience life. When a person is suffering from a painful disease or a pet, the humane thing to do is to euthanize to spar them pain but why is it that with farm  animals all we seem to be doing is contributing to their pain not preventing it. A friend of mine made a an ironic comment considering how she is very passionate about animals. She said that factory farming is more human then hunting. My response to that was FACTORY FARMING IS NOT HUMANE. Humans were hunters but we valued the lives of the animals we took. It was for our survival. Hunting is still done but it is regulated and you only hunt what is needed i.e. sometimes to keep the population low of a certain species due to the lack of predators. Sometimes this happens and one population is dominating which is causing big problems for the rest of the ecosystem.

I want to clarify, hunting for sport is NOT right, trophy hunting is NOT right, hunting for an animals fur even though now we have alternatives to animal fur is again NOT RIGHT! These animals have the right to live just like we do. No other animals other then humans seem to cause intentional harm to animals with out a specific reason. We just do it because we want to. We never think of the consequences of our actions until it’s to late. Other animals know how to live in harmony with each other. They have the ability to co-exist with one another. WHY CAN’T WE LEARN TO CO-EXIST WITH THEM? We just take everything from the earth, a planet we all share like it only belongs to us. We aren’t the only living beings on this planet and if you think things like  Global Warming only affect us then your wrong. Animals are going to suffer from are greed.

You don’t have to be a vegetarian to respect the lives of animals. You can lower your consumption o meat. Thus, less animals have to suffer and these farms don’t make money over the slaughter. Being a vegetarian doesn’t mean you care more about animals then someone who eats meat. It just means you respect the life that was taken in order for you to live.

I end this rant with this. EDUCATE YOURSELF! If one less person is not ignorant to the pain these animals faces, the more this issue is brought to life.

BTW, THE REASON THESE ANMALS ARE PUT IN SUCH SMALL CAGES IS BECAUSE FACTORY FARMS ARE TO CHEAP TO GET BIGGER CAGES. A CAGE IS WORTH MORE THEN A CHEAP CHICKEN.

Also, exotic animals like LIONS are put in breeding facilities. For what purpose, to kill them. Think about it. Cecil is not the only lion that has lost it’s life because of us.
