Thruce + cuddling for a prompt
Bruce was exhausted. He hurt all over. He just wanted a good night’s rest and forget everything that happened during that battle.
He didn’t even bother to take off his clothes, and jumped right into his and Thor’s bed. Thor didn’t respond; he gave him a smile and put down the book he was reading, talking his reading glasses off his face.
Bruce snuggled closer to Thor, his face pressed against his warm chest, hands limp down his side
Thor ran his hands through Bruce’s thick, matted locks. “You alright, Bruce?” He smiled and rested his other hand on Bruce’s back.
“Never better,” he muttered, voice drowsy with sleep.
“Mhmm,” Thor let out softly, enjoying the feel of Bruce’s hair through his fingers. “Did the debriefing go well?”
“Not really.” Bruce closed his eyes, inhaling the rich, intoxicating scent of soap and musk. “Tony and Steve still wouldn’t talk to each other. It was a nightmare. You would think, they would be over this little conflict of theirs by now.” He sighed.
“Oh.” He furrowed his brows. “I don’t understand why our friends can’t set aside their differences and be friends again. I regret that I wasn’t there to fight beside you and our friends,” he said sadly.
Bruce opened his eyes and lifted his head up, looking at Thor directly, with a small smile in his eyes. “I know. But we’ve been gone for so long, and so much have changed. I don’t understand it, too.” He stroked Thor’s face with his thumb, careful not to run his thumb over the damaged eye.
Thor relaxed into his touch. “You are not wrong, love,” he said, smiling.
“Of course.” Bruce smiled back. “And Thor?”
“I know you belong in the battlefield, and you will be there soon, but for now, just take it easy and let me take care of you, okay?”
“Always,” Thor replied. “I will never refuse your help, Bruce, and you have mine if you ever need it.”
Bruce settled back against Thor’s, and Thor pulled him closer to him.
“I love you. I feel like I don’t say it enough,” Bruce said softly, yawning.
“And I you. Go to sleep, love,” Thor told him in a gentle voice, as a content smile brushed over his lips.
