i like how the machines are created to help the environment stabilization or machine renewal, while still being animal adjacent! you get a sense that they fit into the world and that there is a point to all of their existences too. scrappers collect scrap obviously, ravagers and watchers protect convoys and machines, tall necks maintain the network instead of a stupid tower, snapmaws and tiderippers for water purification, glinthawks and stormbirds for air purification, grazers and lancehorns work the soil, tramplers and rideable machines to disperse plant life and increase habitat heterogeneity etc. but there are some which unfortunately I canβt figure out an in-universe reason to exist - like what on earth is the purpose of the slaughterspine?
