Handeloup, age 14, organizing a runaway chocobo recapture effort.The one thing motivating Handeloup towards knighthood was the hope of riding one of those magnificent battle chocobos one day, and young Handeloup had once again gone to the stables in lieu of training with the practice axe he had been bestowed with the year before, which may have advanced his dreams of knighthood better. Nevertheless, he witnessed the ever clever birds to simply lift a gate off its hinges and sprint to the streets.
Calling Handeloup lazy would be mean; but if he was good at something, it was figuring out the most efficient manner to do things. And he had an idea of which one of his friends was the fastest runner, who the best climber, who had the best aim with a lariat, who was the best horsebirdman, and which chocobo the rest would nicely follow back.
Of course, all he got for thanks was blame for supposedly letting the chocobos free in the first place.
