Get ready for Skyvik Week 2025! 🌷🔩

This week is all about the celebration of the ship between Sky Young and Viktor from Arcane/League of Legends. For each day pick either of the two prompts (or both!) and create something wonderful for all of us fans!

Day 1. Beach

A little late for the first day of Skyvik Week, but for the "Beach" prompt I would like to share with you a more detailed version of the Little Mermaid Skyvik AU I thought up a while ago! It's a mix of Andersen's original tale and the Disney version. I hope you like it! ^^

So Sky is a mermaid living in the ocean by the shores of Piltover. I imagine her mermaid tail and her hair in her mermaid form would have similar patterns and colours as her astral body does (and her human form would look like her regular season 1 self). She researches humans and the dry land and instead of a notebook, she has a chest where she hides her collection of artifacts. The chest has the same lotus symbol on the lid that's on her journal's cover and on Viktor's commune sigil.

Viktor plays the part of the "prince", but instead of partying, he goes out to sea to do research. I imagined him going down to the depths in a steampunk diving bell or diving suit (this is where those who know Viktor's 2016 lore start to get nervous lol, but don't be afraid, this one would be a perfectly safe and regular diving suit 🙂‍↕️).

Sky watches him from afar and starts to help him with his experiments in secret, never revealing herself because merpeople have a rule to stay hidden from humans. They develop a bond while never meeting face to face. She falls in love with him and Viktor starts bringing her gifts to her treasure chest from the human world to thank her for her help.

One day Viktor has an accident and almost drowns, but Sky intervenes and saves his life. As he wakes up on the shore, he hears her voice and catches just a glimpse of her before she leaves. Later Heimerdinger and Jayce, who noticed he went missing, find him there talking deliriously about the mystery girl who saved him.

Sky would like to reveal herself to Viktor and confess her feelings, but it's at this point that she is contacted by the sea witch who is none other in my AU than the hexcore personified! She fills Sky's head with doubt and tells her that Viktor wouldn't love her as a mermaid, so she sells her voice, is transformed into a human and goes to the dry land where she finds Viktor. But just like in the original tale, she has the stipulation that if Viktor doesn't return her feelings under a time limit, she will turn into sea foam.

On land, the Hextech team takes Sky in and she bonds with all of them, but especially with Viktor over their shared love of science. He helps her discover more of human culture (also she is particularly interested in the flora of the surface world).

You know how in Andersen's original tale the mermaid is in pain whenever she walks? Mer!Sky has that problem too and Viktor assumes she also has mobility issues and chronic pain so he tries to help and accomodate her. Maybe he even gives her one of his crutches!

And that scene in the Disney remake where Ariel makes Erik guess her name? Sky would try to give him hints too, although I imagine Viktor would overthink it and he would name all the celestial bodies and constellations before he finally guesses her name as just "Sky".

The time limit is almost over, but it becomes obvious for everyone that Viktor has started falling for Sky. Jayce would urge him to abandon his obsession with the "mystery woman" who saved him and just stay with her instead. It's at this point that the hexcore/sea witch appears looking and sounding just like mer!Sky. I think that she would want to have Viktor for herself because she can sense his innate connection to magic. Viktor believes she is the woman who saved her, falls under her mind control and agrees to immediately marry her to everyone's shock.

Sky is devastated, not just because of her broken heart, but because she realizes the danger Viktor is in. Then, like in the original tale, her mermaid sisters would find her (I imagine one of them would be the firelight girl who has a similar animation model as Sky 😁) and offer to help. Sky has decided she wants to save Viktor, even if it means she has to reveal herself as a merperson and turn into seafoam. She can't speak or write, but she has another idea. So she asks her sisters to bring her the metal piece from her treasure chest with the symbol on it!

Sky crashes the wedding with very little time left and here is where I would present you two possible endings:

The Bad Ending: Sky goes to Viktor and gives him the piece, but she ran out of time. Viktor sees the symbol and puts two and two together: the woman he started to fall for is also the one who saved his life AND also his secret mermaid friend. He is free of the sea witch's mind control, but just as he realizes his feelings, he has to watch Sky turn into seafoam in his arms. Sky dies knowing that she kept Viktor safe. 😢

The Good Ending: Sky goes to Viktor and gives him the piece, the realization of his feelings breaking him out of the mind control. Here they would somehow have to defeat the hexcore-witch and I haven't completely figured out how yet, but the wedding reception would be full of powerful and capabe fighters, like Jayce and Mel for example, who would totally fight to save Viktor's life! Once evil is defeated, Viktor is ready to confess his feelings for Sky, but with the witch's death, her magic is also gone from the world and she transforms back into a mermaid anyway. However Viktor declares that he wants to be with her anyway and the two of them start a relationship meeting every day by the shore. (Think of Ponyo's parents as reference! 😄)
