Hiiii :) the is still a slot for the title-prompt meme? 🥺🥺🥺 Because you broke my heart in your last piece, and I'm in a Disney song kick, I would like to send "Bella notte" ❤️
I won't lie, I had to ask the people in my phone (the discord) what Bella Notte was and its link to Disney xD In the end I don't think it much follows the movie or what the song is about but I do think it came out rather soft and fluffy <3
Funnily enough, a room in an old monastery is the most privacy Eoin's enjoyed in months. The desert was isolated but the canvas thin, and as the ranks of the SAS grew, so did Paddy's cautiousness; the nights Eoin has spent sharing a cot with Paddy have been few and far between. The beds here aren't much larger than the cots they had in the desert, but the wooden door has a lock which is reason enough for Eoin to be happy. If the slight upturn of Paddy's lips when he'd seen the bolt is any indication, Eoin isn't the only one.
Of course, just because they have the luxury of a private bedroom doesn't mean they get to enjoy it immediately. There is paperwork to be done, and men to distract lest they destroy what's left of the monastery. It's not until the moon has firmly set high in the sky that Eoin finally crosses the threshold of the room with a sigh of relief he doesn't bother to fight. Already, his shoulders relax as he leans against the door for a second, the promise of long-awaited privacy giving him the strength to fight the exhaustion seeping into his bones. Observing the room through half-lidded eyes, Eoin blinks at the new pieces of furniture. When he'd left his pack that morning, he could have sworn the table and the two chairs weren't there; given how cramped up the room feels with one of the chairs firmly lodged against the bed on the far right, Eoin is right to think Paddy's done some furnishing to the room.
Clearly, Paddy has no intention of them using both beds, and the thought has something warm coil in Eoin's chest. Paddy's been longing for closeness too. Determined to stay awake for at least another two or three hours, Eoin foregoes the only usable bed to sit in a chair, the wood digging uncomfortably in his back. Even if he falls asleep here, the hard wood is sure to wake him up soon; tilting his head back, Eoin closes his eyes with a sigh, hand carefully massaging his sore knee.
Seconds or minutes could have passed before he hears Paddy's steps approaching, then the door opening and the bolt sliding in place as Paddy enters the room, eyes immediately finding Eoin.
"I like what you did with the place," Eoin speaks without opening his eyes, though he turns his head towards Paddy.
"I thought you'd like this more." Intrigued, Eoin opens one eye to find a bottle of red wine dangling from Paddy's fingers.
"Always knew you speak my language, love," he laughs, taking the bottle from Paddy. He knows Paddy doesn't usually drink wine, much preferring the burn of the rum to the sweetness Eoin favours in his beverages. "Thank you," he says, earnest as he makes sure to catch Paddy's eyes. Though Paddy doesn't answer, sitting down on the opposite chair, his lips quirk up in a crooked smile Eoin wants to kiss but he holds still, serving them both a drink a first. There's a tremor in his hands as he gives Paddy his cup, a deep-seated need to be close to Paddy overwhelming him until his skin almost sizzles with it.
Patience wearing thin now that Paddy's right there, Eoin doesn't wait a second more before he rises to his feet, crossing the room in two quick strides. Immediately, Paddy opens his arms, a smile softening his face as Eoin sits on his lap with a contented sigh. Strong arms wrap around his waist to keep him steady, and Eoin leans against Paddy a little more, burying his nose in dark honey strands. Closing his eyes, Eoin breathes deeply as he wounds his arms around Paddy's neck for balance, cup forgotten on the table.
With Paddy's arms around him, it's like his soul has finally settled, the sea becoming calm once more; body relaxing, Eoin feels like a puppet with its strings cut loose, fully trusting Paddy to hold his weight. The chair creaks but stays solid under them so Eoin pays it no mind, focusing instead on the even rise and fall of Paddy's chest against him.
"Are you falling asleep on me, lad?"
"No," he mumbles unconvincingly in Paddy's hair as he rests his cheeks there. "Just restin' my eyes." Paddy's chuckle rumbles through him and a warm hand strokes a line down his back, soothing and heavy, and doing nothing to help Eoin's current fight against sleep.
Paddy would carry him if Eoin does nothing. He'd slip an arm around Eoin's back, another under his knees and he'd lift him like he weighs nothing. But though Paddy wouldn't complain, his back would twinge and protest the strain, and Eoin can't stand the thought; with a yawn and a kiss that lands half on Paddy's lips, half on his cheek, he gets up on wobbly legs, blindly reaching out behind him for Paddy's hand. It slips into his as naturally as breathing, Paddy following after him like the moon following the sun.
The mattress is softer than it looks, and Eoin sinks into it with a blissful sigh, wiggling closer to the wall so there's space for Paddy. Already half-asleep, he's vaguely aware of Paddy leaning over him to untie his boots but Eoin can't do much more than look through bleary eyes. A gentle squeeze of his ankle precedes his right foot being freed from its confines, and Eoin almost moans at the sensation, wiggling his toes now that he's got the space to do so. His other shoe is quick to follow, prompting Eoin to shift on his side, facing the wall as Paddy sits on the edge of the bed, untying his own boots. It isn't long before solid warmth aligns with Eoin's body, Paddy's chest firm against his back as one arm wraps around his middle to bring him closer, hand untucking his shirt from his pants to rest on his stomach. With a happy hum, Eoin curls into Paddy, soul sated now that he's surrounded so safely by the one he loves.
"Good night, Blair," he whispers, tilting his head to the side for a kiss he receives almost immediately, the shadow of Paddy's smile pressing into his cheek as he's bestowed another kiss. Unable to keep his eyes open any longer, Eoin presses back into Paddy, feeling his warmth seeps between their clothes and vaguely aware of murmured words he can't make out spoken against his shoulder.
I hope you liked this <3 Thank you for sending it in!! I promise there should be no more angst coming your way from me for at least a few days <33
