Ski weekend
(Francis Miller. 1961)
here’s photos from my ski weekend that don’t show anyone’s face! @panpotterhead3000 fell 6 times but she’s okay don’t worry most of them were more theatrical then dangerous, she also had intercourse with a tree
the first two are from the first hill and the second two are from the second hill ps- you can’t tell from the pictures but the second mountain had the cool box chair lifts so that was fun :)
Lovely ski day! So good we will do it all again tomorrow.
currently reading a book in which the protagonist has to navigate icy slopes & avalanches fighting snowstorms & dangerous conditions to survive in the sierra nevada mountains where she & her brother & friends have been stranded. this is very relatable to me as someone with back pain who has to do laundry even tho I live on the 3rd floor & laundry is 2 buildings over in the basement in ohio in january. I would’ve died so many times over if I was in op’s situation it’s not even funny

Are you planning on reading Summer Rental by Rektok Ross?
Yes I am! Now that I know about it lol! I had already intended to look & see if Rektok Ross had more books after Ski Weekend took my heart ripped it out my chest & stamped on it.
I am still gonna get done with my current book / upcoming book club stuff first. But omg!
This ask made me look up Summer Rental & am SO down oh my god it sounds right up my alley I love it. I may have a new beloved top favorite author, honestly!
I’m currently reading No Place Left to Hide by Megan Lally.
Next on my list is How to Solve Your Own Murder by Kristin Perrin for a book club. This one I have to read by the first week of February so hopefully No Place Left to Hide doesn’t take too long & I can read HTSYOM fast right before the book club because I only do one book at a time as a rule.
Then next up is Feed by MT Anderson for a different book club. This one we don’t exactly have a date because we’re all so busy we kinda just said we’d do it so that’s why it’s third on the priority list lol.
THEN next is Summer Rental.
Thank you for mentioning it & putting it on my radar because I feel like I do want Rektok Ross to obliterate me mentally & emotionally again in the nearish future for sure.
No spoilers but have you read both Ski Weekend & Summer Rental, or anything else by Rektok Ross? I had never heard of him & picked Ski Weekend randomly but the man is a genius, I think anyway. I was so excited to learn a movie for Ski Weekend is in the works!
the obvious solution to all the complicated dynamics & hormones in this group attempting to survive the wilderness is polyamory but alas I fear this book isn’t brave enough for that 😔 even if one of the characters did just talk about how hot they all are….I shan’t get my hopes up 😔
