This Green Chile Cheeseburger will take you to New Mexico with its strong and spicy flavors. A burger like no other is made with roasted green chiles, melted cheddar cheese, and juicy beef patties. Every bite tastes like the Southwest!
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 4 green chiles, roasted, peeled, and chopped. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. 4 hamburger buns. 1/2 onion, thinly sliced. Lettuce leaves. Tomato slices. Salt and pepper to taste. Cooking oil for grilling.
Instructions: Set your grill or griddle on the stove to medium-high heat to get it ready. Split the ground beef into 4 equal pieces and shape them into burger patties while the grill heats up. On both sides of each patty, sprinkle salt and pepper. Put the burger patties on the grill and cook them for three to four minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if you like them more done. Add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty and let it melt in the last minute of cooking. Brush some cooking oil on the inside of the hamburger buns and toast them on the grill until they are just barely browned while the burgers are cooking. Start with the bottom half of each bun to put the burgers together. Add a lettuce leaf, a tomato slice, and onion slices. Put a cheesy burger patty on top of the vegetables, and then cover each patty with a lot of roasted green chilies. Add the top half of the toasted bun to finish. Enjoy the tasty tastes of New Mexico with your Green Chile Cheeseburgers while they're still hot.
