Something grabbed at him to make a visit to Vanessa while he had an off-day this week. He had planned to come by that week with his sister, but he... wanted to come by. A perfect gift for Vanessa after everything she had done for him and Abby. It was more than a sacrifice. It was everything.
She was accepting visitors. Approaching the doorway, he slowly invited himself to her side, showing the bouquet and gently wrinkling it in hopes she could hear, "...I brought you some flowers," he spoke quietly, reaching to pat her hand. "I, uh... hope you're doing better, Vanessa."
Mike had a few words, and had planned to leave before turning and bumping into a lady that had entered behind him, jolting for a moment. Oh... she had more visitors?

HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HE DID WRONG, thinking there had to be a reason for his boss to come in & tell him to sit on a dime. he wasn't necessarily overworking himself. no, he was just doing all the tasks that he usually did. sure, he could be a bit neurotic about how he kept the day care - but that was all in a day's work to him. if the place wasn't kept clean, then it wasn't safe for the children to be running amok. sitting down on the first chair he could find - a child's sized seat. he sat almost comedically in it. his long legs touching his chest when he sat there.
wearing a face of pure apathy for a moment, he's thinking through all of the possible violations in his head - a chronic overthinker. most would attribute that trait to sundrop only - but moondrop was the same way, just a little quieter about it. raising his eyes to look up at mandy, he chews his bottom lip in anticipation. β is there a problem? β

HE DOESN'T GET FRUSTRATED OFTEN, not to the point of tears. it takes a lot to get him to show emotions past apathy. but today had been such a bad day - a terrible day; it all depended on the attitude of the children; paired with the attitude of the parents that came to pick them up. he didn't know how it was so easy for someone to get under his skin, but it was possible after some grating. sitting in the darkness - the room where the children often came to take their naps - it was the perfect place to hide away while his emotions went haywire. or rather - it was the almost perfect place.
hearing a soft 'hey' from the doorway, he looked up - smudged eyeliner and all. there was markings all the way down his makeup by now. moon knew that he wanted to be alone at the moment, but there was no better company to have than hailey. she was a calming presence, both for the employees & the children alike. wiping his face with the back of his palms, he did his best to look presentable. it wasn't as if she was a child and he had to pull himself completely together - but his pride made him feel the need to try harder than just sniffing his tears back up into his eyes.
β are they all gone finally? β - referring to the children. he was throwing in the towel for the day. consider his patience completely worn. he didn't have it in him to deal with them. standing up from his spot on one of the pillows, he's trying desperately to act normal - be normal.
