#site issues

I checked AO3 status on both Twitter and Bluesky, and the last incident of this nature was reported as being resolved on May 20. It definitely isn't. I've been experiencing daily interruptions since then but thankfully I haven't lost any works, though I've had to resubmit information like story text after pages failed to post or preview.

A thread has covered everything pretty well but does show some of the crap being said on the twitter accounts so go in with caution.

Please whatever you do, DO NOT interact with the fA site, and if needed unfollow the old twitter handle now under "ilovekiwi4lunch" though the handle may continue to change.

The discord has also been having issues with USERS, if you join to stay informed about the situation best to not allow direct messages to your account.

This blog was made because I didn't like how the first one was running and wanted a place that's a bit more freeing in a sense.

Although this blog is mostly of tsams, tlaes, and teaps/tmaf you can send confessions about the other shows. However, since I don't watch those ones I may not know what your talking about if you mentioned things from them. same thing with the main three because I don't keep up with them as much.

I'm not gonna be nice if you make assumptions about me and other users if I do reply to you. I won't take shit if you harass or bully anyone here as I want this to be a safe place for people.

Blog rules + other

- General fandom asks and rants as well as site stuff can be sent to @toyhouse-rant

- if your ask is against the rules, something I'm uncomfortable with, or harassment it'll be deleted. repeated offense and you'll be blocked from the blog.

- don't send nsfw/suggestive asks if your a minor as it makes me uncomfortable.

- block ship and character hate tags if you don't wanna see mentions of them.

- block tsbs confessionverse if you don't wanna see reblogs of those accounts. (These guys are having fun plus it's also funny)

- I'm not a roleplay account so don't treat me as such. You are however allowed to call me the ruin clone if you'd like.

- my confession tag is tsamsconfessions so block that of you don't wanna see these. I don't have a regular tag for anything else but block Toyhouse drama (or any site ones tag), fandom problems, and any other tag i use like it if you don't wanna see those.

- General fandom asks, Vents, rants, about sites are fine. An example of this is Toyhouse.

• Feel free to vent about drama but don't name anyone in your asks.

• Harassment in comments, reblogs, or my asks box (either to other users or myself) will be deleted. Repeated offense will get you blocked.

• Nsfw/suggestive confessions are aloud just don't be extremely explicit please.

• You may curse all you want just don't use slurs.

• Treat people the way you'd want to be treated. If you want to confession something/reply send a ask not a comment.

• Don't harass people because they like something you don't

• Aus , headcannons, and ships are allowed

• Want to send a ask but not have it posted? you can request me on the bottom asking such to add to the void. Long as it follows the rules.

I wanted to get the word out in case others are having issues with the site like many of us have been!

In case anyone hasn’t logged on recently, please bear in mind the issues you might face when updating your fics.

As of approximately October 31, 2020, any new chapters/stories that are posted are basically dead links. Followers will receive an email for the update, but the links will lead to the following message:

FanFiction.Net Message Type 1

Chapter not found. Please check to see you are not using an outdated url.

New chapter/story can take up to 15 minutes to show up.

Has FF.Net done anything to resolve this? Not yet. Today is November 4 and their Twitter account (@FictionPress) has not been updated in over a month. Twitter is their only source of communication to site updates, other than the notes for updates/improvements on their mobile app.

By the way, the app isn’t affected by this - anyone who reads your fics on the app will be able to see your fic updates just fine.

Yeah.  I keep asking around to see if anyone else is having this problem but it seems so random.  Some people have told me they can’t get a tag or notification to save their life and others say they’re having no problems at all.  Some folks on mobile are having a rough time with everything on the site and some swear the desktop version is possessed by the devil but have no trouble with mobile.  So I dunno...I haven’t seen any other posts from people with taglists complaining about this issue but of course that doesn’t mean they’re not, I just may not be seeing it.  But it does seem like the last big update to the site just royally fubar’ed pretty much everything.  I do my updates and taglists from desktop.  I have no clue what, if any, difference that makes.

The past week in here has made it obvious why so many people have disappeared suddenly - the site has been all but unusable for a lot of us and it’s frustrating.  And when you rely on it working properly for things like getting your work out and into the public eye, it’s sorta devastating when it doesn’t.  Your stuff doesn’t get seen, response drops, and the kneejerk reaction for writers and artists is to automatically assume their work just sucked.  That’s where I am at the moment even though common sense tells me it’s probably something else.  Or maybe it just really did suck lol

People really should just subscribe to authors/fics at AO3 itself and take tumblr notifications out of the equation except for as a backup.  They’re too untrustworthy and I’ve rarely ever heard anyone say they didn’t get an AO3 sub notification.  I subscribed to a couple of my fics to keep an eye on the reliability and those emails always come.
