He curled up next to his sister, resting his head on her shoulder. “Hey,” he greeted softly, unable to do much else.”

“Say that again? Just so that I can confirm that you said what I think you did.”

It had taken a lot but he finally had pulled himself out of his house and went to find Felicity. He wasn’t doing well at all, and he just... he wanted to be around someone who might help. So he raised his hand and knocked, hoping she was home.

His head was spinning, just like his wheel, as he continued working on turning wool into thread. He had to. He couldn’t stop. He needed to keep working so they could have money so that they could eat. It didn’t matter if he was sick or not, he had to keep working. And so that was exactly what he was doing.

He looked up with dread when the door opened, shying away. He didn’t want more pain, more experiments. He didn’t want it. But then he heard her voice, the voice he’d thought he’d never hear again and he focused slowly on his daughter. Maybe what they’d done to him last time had made him hallucinate, because he couldn’t believe she was really here. But oh how he wanted it to be true. “Bonnie?”

He knew that he was sick. He had a fever and everything and that wasn’t really a good thing. But he couldn’t just stop spinning. They had to have money to eat. So here he was sitting at the wheel with a blanket draped around his shoulders, trying to force through. Just one more spool and then he’d rest. Just one more spool. 

He couldn’t really put a finger on why, but she’d just been off lately. And he was very worried for her. So when she showed up on his door step looking likeshe was fighting to hold back tears he didn’t hesitate to usher her into the house. “Are you alright? What happened?”
