I have one thing to say about DashCon. Ball pit. The infamous ball pit. I still cannot wrap my head around the ball pit being the apology along with a simple letter for why the whole thing was a mess. First year con or not, there are so many unanswered questions that will most likely remain unanswered.
Okay, it seems that a lot of people think that the ball pit was the only apology for what happened. It’s not. The people who paid for the WTNV panel were given free tickets to the concert, a free Sunday badge if they didn’t have one already, and all their names were put into a raffle for autographed items that were going to sold in the silent auction.
Think about if you had been an admin and the panelists had walked out like the WTNV people had - you’d try to apologize in whatever way you could, right? And that’s what they did! They tried as hard as they could to apologize and, yes, it was a crap ball pit, but they tried, and that’s what mattered.
Pretty much, people are focusing on the ball pit and ignoring the other ways that the admins tried to make up for what happened.
