#dashcon ask

I never said that. I've expressed multiple times that the DashCon admins messed up. They were unorganized and, at points, seemed to work against themselves which resulted in what happened Friday and Saturday.

I have not denied this. If you would like to quote me on where I've said this, please do because I'd love to see it.

IT IS people's fault for spreading horrid rumors about the convention, some of them before things even happened, for harassing those who went, for generally acting in a way that says that it was wished that DashCon failed no matter what. 

The problem with DashCon was the organization. But mistakes have been made and lessons have been learned. It was a growing experience for all.

That does not mean DashCon was a failure or was a scam or any other nasty thing people keep calling it.

It messed up, yes. But it was still wonderful. It still had lovely people attend it and fantastic panels and downright gorgeous artists and cosplayers. I wish more people had gone so as to experience it. I fully plan to attend next year's and hope that people don't let the mistakes and ugly rumors from this year stop them from attending.

Please don't imply that I 'know something' when it is, in fact, your own rude opinion. Did you go to DashCon? Or are you just basing your apparent 'fact' on what you've read on this website, known for spreading false information?

DashCon was a first year convention that wasn't organized nearly as well as it could be which resulted in some things messing up.

This does not mean that DashCon was an 'awful mockery of a con'. It was a lovely convention and 99% of the people that I have talked to that actually went very much enjoyed it and can't wait to go next year.

Yeah, I spent way too much money in the dealer's room because there were just too many great artists there. And like, putting geothebio, enerjax, and areyoutryingtodeduceme all by the front door of the room??? Like, most of my money was gone by the time I left those booths!!

Churning shit out at DashCon... you mean my jewelry and stuff? Yeah, bro, I'm honestly in shock myself about how much jewelry I made. Like, I pretty much was making jewelry nonstop for most of the weekend, especially Sunday. My friends almost staged an intervention, like, "Tony I think you have a problem." xD

But that's what I get for being self-promoting trash and going up to everyone like, Hey kid wanna buy a bracelet? Hahahaha

Okay, I've gotten few people telling me that it was illegal (though I've also gotten more than a few people telling me about how minors were let into the BDSM panel when they most definitely weren't) so if you have any actual proof about it being illegal, please show me because I'm pretty sure it wasn't.

Yes, it was messily organized but besides the two main mess-ups, everything else worked out mostly well.

It was not a scam, and I just really can't stress that enough.

People also keep bringing up the ticket price - like, do y'all think there was a ballpit there and nothing else? There was quite a bit there. It was an incredibility fancy five-star hotel that was booked and it cost quite a bit of money. So, yes, the money was actually used.

SPG cancelled on the convention, the admins quickly told people that they had quit, and within a week, found another band to play (Time Crash) and sold tickets for them instead.

The popular BDSM panel. If you honestly believe that that panel was so crazy as the horrid rumors are saying, well. It just reminds me of that comic where someone says the word 'Gullible' is on the ceiling and immediately hundreds of people believe it without even checking.

There were multiple people at the door checking IDs and another doing a head count. The panelists informed everyone beforehand what the panel was going to be talking about and that they could leave at any time. They then discussed safety an consent, along with what the panelists do in their day-to-day lives, and things like that. There was no massive orgy (like, who actually seriously believes this???) and no one got an STD from the alleged orgy. 

I don't mean to be rude, but come on people. Use a bit of common sense in some of this. And for the rest, please do your research before accusing people of these things. 

I did donate, it wasn’t a scam, and if you’d actually read through my blog, not everyone is laughing at ‘people like me’ because they realize that they should actually listen to the people who went, not the people who didn’t go and instead chose to start ugly rumors.
