Happy Friday people! 

In the midst of the craziness it’s exciting to have new music releases to look forward to.

Today we have new albums from Purity Ring and Joywave. It’s especially exciting to hear from Purity Ring as it’s been five years since their last release.

And, of course, a singles mixtape to enjoy!

This week there’s a ton of full albums dropping. We wanted to take a few minutes to highlight those and then leave you with this week’s singles mixtape. 

Get excited. We have a NEW ALBUM FROM DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL!!! We can go into a dark room, turn it up, and remember back to our angst-filled high school and college years. It’ll be great. 

We also have new drops from The Wombats (when did they get so popular?), The Oh Hellos, Son Lux (love these guys, this is showing a bit of their deeper/darker side), MGMT (it’s taken them long enough), and Wild Child.

This week we’ve got some new Christmas singles like the lovely Oh Holy Night by Ellie Goulding and the jaunty Oh Holiday! by The Lighthouse and the Whaler. 

And, then there’s Tonya Harding by Sufjan Stevens. Still not quite sure what to make of that one yet. See the lyrics here. 

We can also enjoy new releases from a lot of bands with names in all caps, like SOHN, POWERS, POLIÇA, and HAERTS.

We also have a previously unreleased track, I Promise, from Radiohead that will be included on their rerelease of OK Computer.

And then we also have the much anticipated release of The 1975′s latest album - Notes on a Conditional Form featuring FKA twigs, Phoebe Bridgers, and Greta Thornberg! Pitchfork has a great article with Matty Healy on the inspiration behind the music.

Singles Mixtape:

I knowwwwww it’s been forever.

This week so many good tunes to share. So here’s a singles mixtape with new songs from Joywave, Haiim, MisterWives, Bishop Briggs, and so many more.

October has been a great month for new music. Numerous new albums have dropped and we have a few more coming in the next week. We will still be posting our Singles Mixtape, but we wanted to spend some time featuring the albums we’re most excited for.

First, a top favorite, Gregory Alan Isakov released a new album, Evening Machines, and has announced a new tour. You can also find his lovely music video here. This album continues in his traditional simple haunting songwriting. And we eat it up. Listening on repeat and never getting tired of any of it. Check it out:

Next up is The Last Bison, another favorite. Having seen them live several times, they are just so fun. Their latest album, SÜDA, is a bit of a departure as their band members have changed and reduced down to 3. And, they have introduced an electric guitar. But you can still hear the classic Last Bison, especially in frontman Ben Hardesty’s raw and loud vocals. They will be in RVA at Capital Ale House on Saturday, December 1. Check it out:
