Had the most unexpected email today from my little mans teacher. From day one of this new school year she’s been a huge blessing for him. She’s gotten him to love learning again and getting up to go to school. We’ve made sure to spoil her when we can with things she can be sure to use in her classroom as a thanks for all she does. At Christmas time we put together a nice basket of items like pencils, erasers, post it notes, pencil holder for her, highlighters, all the things Boy Wonder picked out because he knows what she uses. Of course I baked her and all the staff some homemade cookies as well. For Valentine’s Day we picked out a little basket and restocked pencils, erasers, a little kindness book, and I gave her some of my hand sanitizer stash I had with a cute desk sanitizer holder. When the lockdown happened she texted me a picture of one of the pocketback sanitizers and said “who knew this would be gold right now? Thank you so much for a little stash that’s come in handy not only in my classroom but for my son and I right now” But for her to do this is truly wonderful and so kind. She’s a wonderful human and she truly shows her passion for teaching. We adore her so much. She misses being in her classroom and misses seeing her students and I know my kid misses seeing her. The daily zoom call for class is something he looks forward to because he sees her and all his friends. He’s even asked to FaceTime her extra some weeks because of how much he misses her. Im so grateful and feel so blessed to have her as his teacher. And this random act blew me away today i was in tears when I got the email. I couldn’t believe it because I know a teachers salary isn’t what they deserve and I know like me she’s a single mom. But her son is 10 years old to my 6 year old. I’m going to find a way to give her something extra special somehow in four weeks when the school year ends for my little man.
