Sewing machines motors have special lubricant!
Singer had theirs too. This waxy thick heat soluble lube stored in the motor melts with the heat of friction, lubricates the bearings, friction and heat goes away, when it is needed again more is melted…
Do not use sewing machine oil in the reservoir it migrates into the motor, soaking the brushes and smokes like an electric train!
Not all models have lubrication ports!
Some have Oilite bearings - porous sintered bronze bearings with lubricant stored in the pores drawn in with a vacuum during production. Permanently lubricated bearings are used on furnace blowers and other equipment so you don’t need to oil.
Rodney will be on his way to Uganda soon, the name still cracks me up…
They have the ability to make treadle bases, electricity is not dependable and 230v.
