Robin Lathroum, on the left carried 4 model 66 Singers in her luggage to Uganda to help prevent human trafficking!!! She has done this for years!!!

Winnie on the right has been training women to sew to give them enough income to survive. After training she sends a machine out with 2-3 women at no charge to the women.

These are machines found in thrift stores yard sales and dumpsters. Castoff because they need oiled or the decals are not perfect.

They can use your help with financing and the process of shipping. It’s difficult to get shipments into Uganda, shippers won’t attempt it so she is reduced to packing machine heads in her luggage and hand carrying them.

This charity is helping prevent women from being trafficked in Uganda. They teach women sewing and enough business to be able to survive. Once trained 2-3 women take one machine on a treadle base and sew to survive!

They need help shipping sewing machine heads, both financial and someone experienced as a broker at the border in Uganda. Most shipping companies will not ship to Uganda due to corruption. If you have shipped into Uganda successfully contact them you might help save some lives.

The treadle bases are from India or China, machine heads are donated singers or Japanese machines that use standard needles and bobbins.

The machines we toss in dumpsters because the decals are worn off can save a life!

(Eldredge Two Spool) Uses a common small wooden spool of thread in a canister like bobbin case. Install a new spool on top and they run out at the same time.

You do have a bobbin (spool) winder so you can load half of a spool on a second spool to use top and bottom.

NO! Just because I don’t have a machine with Tiffany style decals is not a reason…

Sewing machines motors have special lubricant!

Singer had theirs too. This waxy thick heat soluble lube stored in the motor melts with the heat of friction, lubricates the bearings, friction and heat goes away, when it is needed again more is melted…

Do not use sewing machine oil in the reservoir it migrates into the motor, soaking the brushes and smokes like an electric train!

Not all models have lubrication ports!
