#sims issues

@lazyduchess any idea what happened? This started to happen after using your Alder Lake patch and Smooth Patch... Nothing else was done in the meantime, how do I fix that?

I haven't been simming for the longest time due to the sims 2 just running super poorly on my desktop PC. It was running poorly, but after I upgraded a few things - mainly added ram and a new graphics card, the experience legit got worse. It would run "ok", but after like 20 minutes I'd run into several issues. While all issues were *technically* playable, it made me super disheartened and annoyed with the whole thing. For Christmas I ended up getting a refurbished laptop (4-5 years old). I installed the sims 2 on it and............it runs really well! Arguably much better than my PC (I suppose it just runs better on older/less powerful pcs??? idk). Haven't overly tested it, but it can run everything on High, so far no pink soup, lags, glitches or slowdowns after an hour in game and can handle all of my CC. I will be playing once I get it setup and so excited to be able to play again without ripping out my hair :)

So, fun fact about the real reason I had to have Don change careers - bc I know it might have seemed pretty sudden in the storyline

Basically, I got this super weird glitch where he was on call at the hospital 24/7, his shifts were never-ending, he only had time to come home and take a nap and then he was back at the hospital again!

So when I say that he didn’t have enough time to spend with his family, I mean that very very literally, he barely had time to eat and sleep - It was ridiculous. Every single night he was on call, and in my time playing TS3 I know that it was definitely not normal for him to be working that much

I’ve played with doctors before, and I’ve never had a sim be on call literally almost every hour that they’re not at work.

^ Him going to work for about the 10th night in a row being on call at 2am??

I tried everything to get rid of this glitch, moving to a fresh copy of the town, changing out the rabbit-hole hospital, resetting everything in the town, resetting don several times, but nothing would work for me. I think something was wrong with the sim himself, that career just got corrupted for him I guess.

So eventually I just had him become a teacher, that’s the reason it was so sudden, I had enough of trying to solve it and I gave up

So, since the latest patch update I’ve been having a weird issue with my game...

Whenever I play with any types of CC or smaller mods, my game won’t start!

It goes to this screen...

and then halts, and I have to force it to shut down!

It somehow works with the MCC and WW folders still in the mods folder, but the second I put anything else in; nothing!!!

I’d rather not play without my CC as my savefiles are filled with stuff and I’d have to remake everything 😩

I play on a iMac, new last year and updated! I’ve uninstalled and re-installed both origin and the game itself!

So for some reason my game loads the textures VERY slowly (and ind you, I have a brand new, good PC. The graphics card is nVidia 1050, so not that bad too). The game also crashes after a few minutes. Weird.

Shit, what happened? My computer crashed with a blue screen while the game was loading and now ALL the saves are broken??? Did anyone encounter that problem before? No EP was uninstalled, everything is like it was before.

Like, I find a nice colour and want to use it in game but when I put the HEX code it's darker and slightly in a different shade.
