And despite how i talk all the time, Im not actually a stickler for canon when it’s funny enough. But Tim literally isn’t the prankster one. Jon immediately jumped to thinking Sasha would play and prank or even Martin. But never Tim.

I know i complain about Martin’s mischaracterization a lot, but really REALLY believe Tim is the most mischaracterized character in tma.

He’s such a good character and a really sad depiction of grief and what it can do to people (especially someone who lost people who were as close to him as Danny and Sasha were (this isn’t even to mention he lost friends in Jon and Martin during season 2 when Jon became paranoid and, to Tim at least, Martin had taken Jon’s side) and it’s sort of heartbreaking that a lot of people don’t view him as that but instead as a one dimensional bisexual stereotype who randomly became angry.

When, at least to me, Tim has ALWAYS been that angry hurt man. I don’t think he’s nothing like we see in s1, but i do think season 1 Tim is largely an act he’s playing up. Not entirely. I think he did legitimately care for Sasha and Martin. But i think it makes sense he would largely be hoping that by playing into that persona he could learn more about what happen to Danny.

thanks for the ask!! I've been working on this for a long time, and I had more ambitious plans but my drawing app is mad at me

set in an alternate timeline where everyone's okay and they've worked together in the archives for a coupe of years now

So first of all, I think Sasha would be the one that gets them to go as she's been active in the cosplay and renfair community since she was a young teenager

Tim is all in, he loves to people watch already, and to get to do it at a place like this is like a dream come true

Martin is being a little weird about it, but agrees when Tim keeps begging him to come (Tim is hard to say no to)

Jon is only coming along because he owes Sasha one

Neither of them admits what that's about and maybe it's for the best

Sasha's got a great Snufkin cosplay that's really detailed and gorgeous that she's bringing, a lot of people recognize her from earlier cons and compliments her all the time

Tim refused to go without a cosplay, and he manages to rope Martin into a group thing, and together they pester Jon enough that he agrees to join them

Since the only game the three of them have in common is Stardew Valley they end up going for that

So Tim is Alex, Martin is Harvey and Jon is obviously Elliot 

He refuses at first, claiming to be nothing like the character, but Tim and Sasha (and Martin, shyly) keeps going on about how perfect his hair is and how great he'll look and he's only human, okay?

The flattery gets to him

It ends up being a huge hit with the other con-goers

They get stopped for pictures a couple of times and they're all so awkward bless them

Just three standing man emoji's standing next to each other with stiff smiles lmao

Tim is not used to feeling that awkward and it shows lmao

Jon actually turns out to feel quite at home with all the nerds, and he and Sasha relishes in seeing Tim being the awkward one

Martin turns out to be quite in his element here, he knows a lot about different boardgames and rpg's, and it's very endearing to the rest of them to see him so at ease

Also Jon and Tim might be just a little heart-eyed at this new, confident Martin

Sasha loves to share this with her friends buuut it's also a little bit like bringing her three little brothers with her lmao, making sure they all eat, hydrate, doesn't get overstimulated, but she's used to that

She kinda likes it, taking care of people she loves

They all think Tim's just there for the laughs, but every now and again he drops a couple of real knowledge about some niché anime or obscure dnd rules

They finally manage to get him to admit that he was quite the nerd in high school and uni, not really growing into his confidence and personality until after that

But he still loves a lot of nerdy stuff and is actually feeling so at home here and he might get a little emotional over finally having friends to share this stuff with

Martin and Jon looks at him like he's hung the moon after that, realizing he might be more alike them that they ever knew

a new jon enters the ring!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST....

This is a new au that focuses on the daily life of students at a University on the outskirts of London, especially those on special scholarships form the elusive Magnus Institute.

It will mainly consist of a mix between little posts on here and a series of fics on ao3.

The characters that are on scholarships will have to work for five years minimum at the Magnus Institute post graduation, and their research and fields are usually connected to what the institute researches in some way or another.

Jon, Sasha and Tim are already friends, and as they're all going for their PhD's they've decided to get a house share together, as well as with Martin and Melanie, who both come highly recommended from Georgie, Jon's ex and good friend of all three.

The other major characters lives on or near campus as well, and will be relevant to the story as it goes on.

This will mainly be a slice of life story without any of the tragedy of the sourced material, but there will be plenty of canon typical spooks as the au goes on!

The ships will come as the story goes, the main ones are in the tags on this post, but some background ones may pop up here and there!
