I finished "Shadow Hunters: The Mortal Instruments"
I am literally so... ANGRY! Like, bro. The ending SUCKED. They made it all... weird and just so random. On a completely different note, I kinda want another season, ngl. I know it won't happen though. Any other Shadow Hunter Fans out there? What's your take on the ending?
Adam Richardson from Ghost Eyes is an autistic bisexual boy who doesn’t care what pronouns are used for him as long as they aren’t she/her, and he’s friends with Simon Louis, an autistic gay sleepygender paraboy who uses he/him pronouns, and Tammy Williams, an autistic demigirl who’s questioning her romantic orientation, has social anxiety and a special interest in drawing, and uses she/her and they/them pronouns!

"You’re a heartbreaker, Isabelle Lightwood,” he said, as lightly as he could with her blood still running through him like fire. “Jace told Clary once you’d walk all over me in high-heeled boots.”
I don’t think I’m physically, emotionally, or mentally stable enough right now to deal with Shadowhunters. I’m not ready for the feels. My new neighbors are not ready to hear me scream at my TV over Malec. Yet here we are.Â
SH 2x13: OVER DRAMATIC?????? and it’s NOT about PTSD
Whoever defends Alec’s behavior for calling Magnus “over dramatic” when Magnus resisted giving him his hair can consider this.
1. The DNA test itself is an act of racial profiling. It’s subjecting a whole population of people to investigation (supernatural or not) due to the misdemeanors of a few. What the point of testing and chipping an entire race if they are not all suspected for terrorism? Sounds familiar? The “Black ppl discrimination” and the Holocaust were all sprung from a concept like this. It was even mentioned in the episode (Maia being stopped by cops just for being black, and Simon’s Jewish grandmother from WWII). That’s why every Downworlder fought their hardest to resist such agenda.Â
2. I counted a total of 5 dead shadowhunters in this episode. But did we take in consideration the amount of Downworlders (werewolves, seelies, and vampires) died when the Soul Sword was activated? If the roles were somehow reversed, Heaven forbids we could count on the palms of our hands the numbers of Downworlders that would survive the punishment from the Clave. People said that Alec was just trying to “do his job” but since when “doing your job” was a reasonable excuse? Maryse Lightwood hunted Jace down like a criminal few months ago because she was also just “doing her job”. Then people said that Alec was protecting Magnus and tried to “clear” him from the Clave. That was not true either. After getting Magnus’s hair, the Clave still order GPS implants for ALL Downworlders. That was when Alec realized by following the Clave’s order, he was not protecting Magnus from anything. What he did was shooting his boyfriend down when his boyfriend refused to submit to racism.Â
3. Luke, being a former shadowhunter, might have gone along with the Clave’s method but Magnus certainly would not. He has lived for centuries and has witnessed the rise and fall within the Shadowhunters society for many generations. He could tell this kind of racist behavior from a mile away. With his power, he could easily unaffiliate himself with the Clave but he stayed for Alec and he also worried about Alec’s safety. Magnus must have seen that Alec was a good man at heart, otherwise he wouldn’t have loved him. But Magnus’s age and wisdom should not be the compensation for Alec’s shortcomings. Alec was a man with strong will and he needed to think for himself what is right and what is wrong, not just blindly following orders. He needed to be challenged so his leadership spirit could come through. Although I still don’t like it because that made Magnus look like a parent and not a lover.Â
I did not mention Magnus’s PTSD in this particular situation because I think it is not relevant. He might have put up a wall to cope with what happened. It might have affected his mood but certainly not his judgement. Without the event of last episode, he might have said: “Can you please leave?” instead of “Get out!” but his decision would remain unchanged.Â
