I’ll take the time to comment on the finale of OFDO and AT later, but right now I just want to scream because we finally got a trailer and a plot that look incredibly interesting for this couple. Honestly, they have absolutely nothing to envy compared to many other heavily promoted and hyped-up pairings.
For me, JossGawin are just amazing to watch. Beyond their extraordinary and natural chemistry—which comes from the fact that they connect so well as people despite being different, and you can see that instantly—and their incredible visuals, they break down every boundary that has been set by this industry so far. They immerse themselves perfectly into their roles, and their scenes don't feel like they should be classified purely as "BL style"; instead, each character simply has their own identity within that context.
I’ve heard some people say that Joss isn't a good actor, but I’ve never seen him play the same character twice. Neo wasn't Mark... and in Arnold, I never saw a single trace of Mark, not even in his tone of voice or his smile. So, excuse me, but how can anyone say he isn't good? As for Gawin, I think he is a natural-born talent. He acts with every single part of his body, and up until now, he has been vastly underrated in the roles he’s been given because his versatility is insane.
Also, while it's true there are other BL actors who don't fit purely into the "bottom" role (my God, I hate these stereotypes and definitions, but unfortunately they exist) because of their looks, or because they seem more masculine or have a more aggressive attitude (the typical stereotypical "top"), Gawin is truly unique. He manages to be extremely feminine while remaining intensely masculine. I don’t know how to explain it... He has this effortless, authentic charm that makes him incredibly magnetic. There is no other actor I’ve seen this in. None.
I am so happy they finally have a series with an interesting plot. I’m happy to see Joss playing a boxer. I’m happy to see a story that feels mature. I’m happy to see Gawin wearing glasses (a total dream come true). I hope they get noticed and loved by as many people as possible, because the portrayal of the LGBT community they bring—even in their off-screen interactions—is that of a couple just like any other, free of rigid structures and stereotypes. It goes beyond the BL industry and delivers a truly authentic depiction of a couple.
I can't wait to watch them. #RoundOneSeries
One last thing. I loved the whole trailer, but this exact moment completely stole my heart. That lovesick smile. It literally screams utter devotion and tenderness. I honestly can’t stop thinking about it. 👇
