The Annual SimDependence Week Royal Horse Race Begins in Ophelia hosted by Grand Duke James and Lord Jackson

A most anticiapated event takes place today to celebrate SimDependence week: The Royal Horse Race. Each year, one country hosts the event and a Grand Duke or Duchess participates among other nobles and athletes. As SimDonia's national animal, horses are quite significant to our history and hearts, which is why all the proceeds from the race will go to a horse sanctuary.

As usual, we are delighted by Queen Diana's presence in the race. This is her first year back after taking a break from participating due to her pregnancies. As a skilled rider, we're always excited to watch the Queen perform with her champion horse, Sugarfoot. She's joined by the host of this year's match, Grand Dukes James, Diana's cousin, who is also quite experienced with riding.

Some notable figures in the stands include Grand Duchess Rosalina who supports her husband in today's game along with Lord Jackson who hosts the event on behalf of Parliament. Lord Jackson's sister, Ryan Brooks, is also competing.

Each rider takes their horse through a series of jumping challenges, then a race takes place to see who comes out on top. The friendly competition is quite popular, and tickets sell out within minutes each year. As always, all horses are treated humanely, and their performance here today supports other horses.

SimDonian Nobles Arrive to the Reception of Crown Princess Diana and Gerhard

While quite a few nobles showed up for the ceremony, only a few decided to attend the reception. There are a number of reasons for this such as older representatives ending the day early to noble families not agreeing with the monarchy. Either way, we’re happy to see who was able to attend because they look stunning!

Count Alvin Lothario has made his way to the reception and is wearing a black tuxedo for the occasion. He is noticably without a companion, so either his date is already attending or he’s come alone! We’ll keep an eye out!

Up next is Grand Countess Ruby and her grandson, Eric, of the Van Zandt family. We find it adorable that Eric escorts his grandmother! They both look wonderul in green!

SimDonian Nobles Arrive to the Wedding of HRH Crown Princess Diana and The Honourable Jonkheer De Geloes

It’s custom for noble familes to send representatives to attend Royal ceremonies such as weddings and coronations. SimDonian nobles familiess consist of former Parliament members who are granted the title Grand Count/Countess while their heirs are Countess. 

Grand Countess Lizbeth Nelson of Hallow Slough and her wife, Grand Countess Tori, are the first nobles to arrive. Lizbeth served a Lady of Parliament under King Parker and has since retired from public service and consults for nonprofits. She also spends her time with her family especially her adorable niece!

Next to arrive is Countess Eliza Pancakes of Sage who was the wife of the first Prime Minister Bob Pancakes. It’s rare to see the Countess out and about especially at such large events. We’re happy to see she is doing well!

The Grand Countess Ruby Van Zandt of Hallow Slough arrives escorted her grandson, Eric Van Zandt. Ruby served as a Lady of Parliament under SimDonian’s first king, William ll. Ruby is known for her stellar service as a member of Parliament which helped shape the nation. Her grandson, Eric, is attending SimDonia Prepatory School among other notable royals and nobles.

Up next, we have Miss Ryan Brooks of Ophelia. Ryan’s grandfather, Grand Count Bryan, served as a Lord of Parliament under HM King William ll. The Countess is currently an artist studying in Simerica.

Very eligible bachelor Count Alvin of Sage arrived to represent the Lothario (formally Goth) family. As the son of Cassandra Goth, the first female Prime Minister and the woman who helped stop her parent’s harsh dictatorship, great things are expected of him. He’s kept a low-profile as of late, but hopefully we will see more of him.
