Plant of the Day
Monday 18 June 2018
A large specimen of Tilia tomentosa (silver lime, white lime) was looking impressive with dark green leaves which have a distinctive silvery-white underside, these were providing a shimmery effect in the wind. The small creamy coloured, fragrant flowers appear in summer. This lime species has been described as the “perfect choice for avenue planting as it does not suffer from aphid infestation”.
