Silver helping Riddle by consistently showing up at the same time so that they can relax together.

Riddle helping Silver stay awake in the classes they share by any means, even if it means letting Silver doodle on his hand. (It'll wash off, he reminds himself. Though, over time, he finds he doesn't mind it).

What would a toxic take on SilRid actually look like?

Cause, I’ve been spiraling in this rabbit hole of toxic, obsessive relationship aesthetics and I just can’t help but wonder sometimes. Especially since it feels impossible for Silver to realistically be a red or black flag tbh.

But like, I want them to be mutually obsessed with each other if that makes sense? But also bad for one another??? Maybe they’d bring out the absolute worst in one another.

Imagine Riddle continuously testing Silver’s patience. Pushing his buttons, enforcing rules that make quite literally no sense to anyone but his own head, playing a constant push and pull game. Always waiting for the other shoe to drop. But it never does.

Silver never once tires of him.

Instead Silver listens to him. Never once does he yell at Riddle. All he gets is a simple nod of acknowledgement and suddenly he’s noticing how Silver actually takes his words into consideration rather than just playing it by the ear like most would and have done in the past. Silver simply asks about a rule every so often and makes an effort to keep to them, never once voicing a complaint.

It scares Riddle as much as it thrills him because to what extent could Silver take this? How much would be tolerated before even Silver decided he had enough of him.

No matter what Riddle does or doesn’t do, Silver would never snap at him or argue back. It infuriated Riddle to no end.

Riddle despises how much he wants Silver in spite of it all, because what exactly was a healthy relationship supposed to look like? All his parents ever did was argue or flat out ignore one another. There wasn’t a single memory when Riddle recalled them ever genuinely being happy together. It grew to the point where they’d rather work extra shifts and longer hours than stand to be in the same vicinity as one another. Riddle had grown so used to everyone leaving him by now, so why exactly was Silver staying? What about himself made him so desirable? So wanted by someone like Silver?

Riddle just couldn’t understand it.

So he left.

Riddle left first to save himself the heartbreak of getting his heart torn to shreds when he least expected it. What did it matter if Silver kissed the knuckles of his hands so softly with a warmth he wasn’t used to before? Riddle would get over it quickly enough. Nor did it matter if he whispered words of affection in his ear each night when they sleep together in the same bed. All Riddle could hear were the empty words dripping with promises of a man who would eventually come to hate him.

For in what world would anyone truly come to love a tyrant so wholeheartedly?

But what Riddle didn’t take into consideration was that for all Silver would let him push his buttons, for all their one sided screaming matches and accusations hurled from left to right- leaving was simply never going to be an option.

Not for either of them.

Silver could take whatever was dished out at him. Books were thrown far softer than what he knows Riddle was truly capable of achieving. Even the most venomous insults always held a lilt of vulnerability that he doubts Riddle himself ever noticed. However, Silver would always see right through him.

It didn’t matter if his family sent him glances of disapproval every time Riddle or rather their relationship was brought up. No matter how often Father tried to bring it up, Silver was set in his decision. Riddle Rosehearts would be his, just as he would belong to him till their final breaths.

It didn’t matter how far Riddle ran, whether it was to take a breather at a friend’s house or perhaps venturing out on much grander escapades, Silver would always be there.

Waiting and ready to bring Riddle back to where they would stay for the rest of their lives together.

Riddle/Silver:

every weekend they go on dates to do things the other likes and they take turns picking the activities. one weekend riddle really “has” to study so silver makes them drinks and has trey make them some sweets and they study together while listening to music and not really getting any work done because silver keeps demanding kisses

Malleus/Leona:

they often take naps together. malleus was uncomfortable with it at first but now it’s his favorite thing. ruggie helps plan their actual dates, so they always end up doing something out of their comfort zones. they enjoy just being together, sometimes they go and walk through the garden and just hold hands and talk. leona grumbles about his housemates, mal listens and inspects the flowers. it’s a very calm, casual relationship, but they like it that way. just being in each others space, not having to do or say much.

Ace/Deuce:

ace and deuces dates are less of planned dates and more of “hey we’re together this is a date now” ace will be going to do something that’s probably stupid and deuce will get dragged along. deuce has to train for track? ace comes with him and throws shit at him while he’s running. they have movie nights where they watch shitty romcoms and cuddle. whatever they’re doing, as long as they are together, it counts as a date.
