Roman Key Rings
I was today years old when I learned that the Roman’s had literal key rings! Most of the examples I can find are 2-3 century AD. The keys would have been too small for doors, but would have been perfect for small chests! Photo is from the Museum of London.
The remains of a small Iron Age dog (Silchester, c. 40 – 50 BC).
This dog was about 29cm high at the shoulder, about the same size as a modern poodle. Â The way its remains were placed (in a relaxed position, as if it were resting) suggests that the dog was a beloved pet that had been formally buried.
Very few small dogs have been found from this period (only about half a dozen in Britain), and it may have been bred on the continent and exported to Britain.

Third Roman temple in Silchester may have been part of emperor's vanity project
A Roman temple uncovered in a Hampshire farmyard by University of Reading archaeologists may be the first building of its kind in Britain to be dated back to the reign of Emperor Nero.
The temple remains were found within the grounds of the Old Manor House in the Roman town at Silchester, along with rare tiles stamped with the name of the emperor, who ruled AD 54-68.
The temple joined two others to make a group of three when it was investigated in Silchester in autumn 2017, and is the first to be identified in the town for more than 100 years. The three temples are located in a walled sanctuary, numbered Insula XXX by Victorian archaeologists. It would have been a striking gateway to the city for travellers from London. Read more.
