Silas and Hearts
Simplest reason, he's a vampire, and the heart holds a lot of blood!
Second simple reason, I just really like drawing hearts.
Real reason: Silas is a hopeless romantic, who has an insanely unlucky record when it comes to relationships, even before he became a vampire. The event that led him to becoming a vampire is that his bf at the time was cheating on him and Silas was already struggling mentally, and it led to him taking his own life. As a vampire, he dated Corbin in the past, which also ended very badly. What Silas wants most in life is to be loved, but no matter what he does, it seems it always goes bad for him, only adding to his reclusive nature. Hearts are often symbolic of love, so Silas being shown devouring hearts can be seen as him craving love to the point that it's almost a need, just as much as feeding on blood is for him.

Hired assassin Doom is on a mission to save her own life before Death catches up with her. If she can find the Doctor they might be able to help her – but where in time and space are they?
