the sign language becomes so common among 1-A that when its AM and Aizawa's time to teach there are reports of an almost defining silence coming from the class, the principle concerned about what could happen goes in and checks, he sees Aziawa at the board writing, the red eye teach turns to the class takes a breath, and the principle assumes its to lecture, instead is greeted with the sight of aizawa making odd hand gestures at the class, who are diligently taking notes.
(Original headcanon is here)
Ilove the thought of this. In general, Class 1-A will (at least seem to ) be somuch quieter after they figured out their own sign-language.
Ijust got a new headcanon because of this:
Afterthat sign-language becomes common between the students, classes get so muchquieter, itâs almost terrifying. Nobody whispers in the lessons. No yellinganymore when something goes wrong, not even from Bakugou. Sometimes, theunknowing teachers catch glimpses of weird hand-gestures or movements out ofthe corner of their eyes, but they canât make sense of it. And sometimes, thestudents just start snickering or laughing as if a joke has been told, butnothing had been said or done that would justify the laughter.
Midnight,Cementoss and Present Mic just donât know whatâs going on. After they hear fromNedzu that Aizawa seems to hold is lessons in a very quiet manner (see abovefor @herocorruptedâsâ idea) they figure out that at least the erasing hero seemsto know whatâs going on.
ItâsPresent Mic who dares to go ask him, one time when there is a break.
Aizawais sitting at a table in the teacherâs lounge, lazily skimming through thenewspaper and sipping his coffee, when Mic just walks up to him and asks,âWhatâs wrong with your students?â
Liftingan eyebrow at him, Aizawa suggests, âProbably the usual?â
âNo,I mean â theyâre behaving weird!â
âTheyâreso⌠so quiet! Heck, not even Bakugouis swearing anymore, even when I start singing Love songs all of sudden, justto get a reaction out of them!â
âAndthatâs a bad thing,â Aizawa deadpans.
âNo.No, itâs not,â Mic sighs, rubbing the back of his neck. He knows exactly whenAizawa is teasing him, and now is such a moment.
âThenI donât see your problem, Mic. Enjoy the silence.â
Pouting,Mic lets himself fall into the chair next to Aizawa, chin resting on his foldedarms. Aizawa is point blank ignoring him, already reading the newspaper again.âPlease tell me, Shouta?â
âIdonât know what you want to hear, Mic.â
âYoucan say please as prettily as you want, thatâs not going to change anythingâŚâ
Thatâswhen Toshinori walks into the lounge, aiming for the teakettle on the stove. Hestops when he sees Mic, pouting, draped all over the table to look at Aizawa.
âUhâŚwhatâs going on?â Toshinori wonders, gaze flitting from Aizawa to Mic and back.
âMicis wondering whatâs wrong with our students,â Aizawa explains without lookingup.
Instantly,Toshinoriâs expression shifts to worry. âAre they okayâŚ?â
Aizawaâshand shifts, waving slightly as if to wave the question away.
Micnotices, but doesnât think much of it.
Toshinori, however, instantly falls silent, a relieved sigh leaving him as he understands.
âShouta, come on,â Mic tries again, frowning now. âIf there is anything going on withClass 1-A, I want to know, too. There my students, too.â
âThereis nothing wrong with them, Mic, I assure you,â Aizawa puts the coffee away, concentrating fully on the newspaper now. âSo donât worry about it.â
âIfeel excluded, though. You know something about it, donât you?â
Toshinorihas grabbed a cup of tea in the meantime and settled on a couch. Heâs behindMic, so the radio host doesnât see when the retired hero puts his cup down inorder to sign something with his hands.
I think we should tell him?
Aizawaâs gaze shifts slightly towards him, noting the familiar gestures. He lets go ofthe papers long enough in order to answer silently. I donât see a reason to. Itâs their secret, isnât it?
But he looks like a kicked puppy! Toshinoriprotests.
Micstartles when Aizawa all of sudden lets out an amused snort, a sound not oftenheard from him. Blinking, the radio host looks up at his friend. âWhat?â
âNothing,âAizawaâs expression is a perfect poker-face again when he answers, theamusement there instantly gone.
Micfrowns, turns and looks over at Toshinori. The former number one smiles almost apologeticallyand shrugs.
Ittakes a moment for Mic to connect the dots, but when he does, he incredulously gapesat his colleagues. âYou both do that, too!â
âDowhat?â This time, Aizawaâs emotionless expression slips just enough to show thelittle smirk resting in the corner of his mouth.
âThatâŚthat talking without talking!â
âThereis something like that? That sounds interesting.â
âAh,youâve got to be kidding me! Just tell me whatâs going on, will you!Toshinori?!â
âUm,I donât think I can tell you, excuse meâŚâ
Basically,Aizawa is having just as much fun with that sign-language as the children do.
