does anyone call you teddy
there was a period of time when that was a primary nickname. growing up under the kansas sun with his mother's insistent reminders on how to act- 'your father's preaching, teddy. sit up.' nowadays it's rare to hear. though he doesn't mind it when it comes from the right mouth. after all he never hated his name. when he finally was able to express himself and become whom he was meant to be, it felt like an easy decision to lovingly hold onto the masculine version of his name. an ode to a life that made him who he is today.
the smile that forms at her question is easy going. " if that's your way of askin' if you can, have at it! "
