Monachopsis Synopsis
(Here’s my new Nanowrimo story. I’ve had this series hanging around for years. I’m really excited for finally getting the first book written.)
7 years ago a massacre occurred in the small seaside town of Murdoch leaving the entire town dead except for nine children each missing a piece of themselves and their memories.
Meriel, one of the children, has been shoved from house to house without being able to find a family to keep her. With nothing to show for her seven years but the mystery of who she once might have been. She had only just given up on finding a family and her past when her past came to looking for her.
The Children of the massacre are being kidnapped, but what would anyone want with cursed teenagers? The country’s federal detectives, an agency named Verness, come in the form of a madman and a witch and request Meriel’s help in order to find the children.
Story Change
It's getting a bit late in the game, but the more I work on this story, the more I realize it's not what I'm in the mood to write. I will write it eventually because I love the story and characters, but I think I just need to let it simmer a while longer.
Instead, I'm trying now to flesh out a story I've left simmering probably too long. The villains are a tangled mess right now so wish me luck on getting them figured out.
